What Our Expert Scouts Are Saying

Sweedeedee
As fun to say as it is cute, funky, and downright delicious, this petite light-filled space sits quietly in a previously breakfast-barren stretch of North Albina Street, dishing up slices of homemade honey pie and hearty breakfast plates (try the baked egg-topped corncakes and smoked trout and potato plate with salsa verde) to overjoyed neighborhood residents who pack themselves into the handful of tables and window bar like happy hash-devouring sardines.

Love the breakfast burritos and honey pie at this super-sweet Albina cafe decked out with houseplants, spinning records, fresh baked goods, and tiny tables packed with satisfied customers.

If having to fight off clusters of sleepy hipsters and hordes of young families tumbling right and left out of mid-size SUVs with a thrift store fork to claim a seat isn't your idea of a good brunch time, well, then maybe stay home and make pancakes. Or, hit this exceptional little NE PDX breakfast spot early for their corncakes with braised greens, and the ethereal honey pie...personally, we try to arrive by 8:02am.

From the adorable antique salt shakers to the perfectly soft-boiled egg with the bakers' breakfast, Sweedeedee leaves no detail overlooked. Visit this spot soon, and visit it often, while it's still under the foodie-radar. Once Sweedeedee is discovered expect wait times that rival Tasty 'n' Sons.

Tips for Sweedeedee

December 14, 2012

It's like San Francisco called in the 60's but is cleaner, food probably better and crowd 'hip-er'; regardless, it's my new favorite cafe and I love the owner Eloise. The food is so damn gorgeous! I go here literally every other day. Say hi if you see me.
