Ah the Portland winter—frosty harbringer of cold sores, elbow eczema, and legs so white they glow in the dark...through your flannel long johns. Bring your sexy back at this glammy inner SE wine and cheese bar, where winemaker Michael Claypool and author/former affineur Sasha Davies preside deliciously over their respective passions, uniting them on a well-rounded menu that includes simple, comforting foods like blue cheese gougeres, butternut farro salad, and a rich apricot almond tart that doesn't care a whit if you haven't shaved your legs since October.
We love going here for Friday "date
night", it's a laid back, sexy little spot to sip wine (or the on-tap local lemon cayenne kombucha) and share a cheese plate or one of the outstanding salads (LOVE the chickpea carrot cilantro). Definitely get dessert, especially if dessert is the ice cream sandwich made with baked-to-order dark chocolate walnut cookies and toasted coconut ice cream.
