Excellent customer service.
After reading the negative reviews posted I was compelled to write about my experiences with Stanton Furniture over the past 39 years.
My husband and I have chosen to purchase there because of the knowledgeable owners who have a wealth of information to share and the high quality large selection of wood furniture.
Rich and Debbie have always given the highest level of friendly personal service while also being aware of the need for customers to have the freedom to look around without having a salesperson constantly following.
Our most recent interactions while shopping for a dining table and chairs confirmed our past experiences. All of our questions were answered and we left the store in agreement that we'll make another major purchase there.
Locally owned businesses such as Stanton need the support of their community.
Hardwood Furniture. Found the owners to be friendly and very helpful. The quality of their products are excellent. Many, many items are made in the USA and thus create jobs in our country. Purchased two items, one unfinished and the other custom modified to meet our needs. Will continue to purchase products from this company. Once again, excellent place to purchase quality furniture.
Terrible treatment by the owners.
I went to Stanton, searching specifically for a well-made utility closet, which I found within ten minutes. I made 2-3 passes through the store (there is a lot of merchandise on two floors), never once acknowledged by the owners. When I finally got the male owner's attention approx. 30 minutes later, he said he'd help me if I just had a quick question. After a long wait for help and his flippant remark, I was already not feeling warm and fuzzy about my shopping experience.
His wife ended up helping me. I found a utility closet (over $600), but expressed that I was disappointed there was no top shelf, as it was important that there was one. She told me it wouldn't be a problem getting one, and I certainly couldn't imagine that it would be, surrounded by raw wood on two floors.
I bought the unit, two nightstands, stain and sealer. My bill was over $1,000.
My husband and I returned the following day with a rental truck that had a metal ramp. After vague instructions about where to pick up our purchases, we drove behind the building for the nightstands, unloading and reloading the ramp, and then had to return to the front of the store for the utility closet, unloading and reloading the ramp a second time. No one, other than the male owner, was available to help my husband lift the items into the truck. The closet had no protective wrapping material nor was the door secured. When I opened up the closet door, there was no shelf.
When my husband went into the store to inquire, there was a very nasty scene whereby the Missus emphatically stated that she said no such thing about a shelf being available, and words to that effect. Neither she nor her husband would back down, and I was labeled as a liar.
I can't comprehend such pettiness over a $2 shelf, after spending over $1,000.
Needless to say, my husband and I were quite shaken by the whole experience, so unless you're extremely thick-skinned and are prepared to be called a liar, take your business elsewhere.
Why are the only other positive reviews fake? This is the only place they've ever reviewed!.
I fell in love with a TV stand and matching bookcases that I saw here. I went home and did my research, shopped the net and found that the set was cheaper ($999 floor model on sale vs. $1,225 including delivery at the cheapest online dealer) and I wouldn't have to wait 2-3 weeks for it to (maybe) show up. I went in the next day to buy, midday on a Monday. Pretty sure I was the only customer in the store. I walked right by two clerks. Now, maybe they didn't offer to help me because I'm a very young female wearing a beat up T shirt and jeans and I'm sure I don't look like the kind of person that would buy. But maybe they really just didn't see me. After inspecting my hopeful purchase for several minutes, I had to walk back to the counter and ask someone to help me. Once I told them I would be purchasing the set, they were very helpful and attentive.
They have an affiliation with a moving company that will deliver in the area for $70. I'm a cheapskate and I didn't want to wait 2 days for my furniture so I picked up a Honda Element Zipcar a couple miles down the road. There were 2 guys there to help me move stuff, and they even helped me figure out how to get the seats in and out of the car. They were very sweet and patient and made my experience really easy. Overall, the store is surprisingly big and they've got a lot of nice REAL wood furniture, though most of it was kind of soul-less and bland for my taste. The prices are reasonable, especially if you think about what you pay for Ikea pressboard junk. I'd shop here again.
GREAT PEOPLE TO WORK WITH -EXCELLENT QUALITY AND PRICE. My parents have bought from Stantons for years. They repaired some chairs my parents broke for free even after 25 years. My parents kept saying go to Stantons so we finally did and wow were we pleased. There is still a furniture store that has really wood. We went in looking for dinning and were overwelmed by the huge selection. We ended up buying bookcases and kids furniture too. The owners were so easy to work with , they went out of their way to help and show us all the different options. This is a store everyone should see
RUDE owners with poor customer service. Nice store with good furniture, but definitely not worth it. The owners do not know the meaning of customer service!! And, don't believe the "free repairs" - they don't stand behind their products, they won't repair them well, and will ignore your concerns. Please take your business elsewhere if service and quality mean anything to you!
Horrible service, rude owners, beware the sales pitch. We purchased furniture from Stanton, seemed like good quality, however the top of our dresser split about 1 month after purchase. We were comforted by their "free lifetime repairs" guarantee... don't fall for it!! You have to take the item back yourself and when they repair it, it won't look the same. Our dresser now looks completely different from the rest of our set. The owners were extremely rude (he hung up on my wife) and blamed us for not maintaining adequate temperatures in our home (note, our house is always between 71-73, no humidity, and the furniture is away from any sunlight). They won't stand behind their products and the lack of customer service is not worth any "deal". If you are looking for rude, horrible customer service with products that won't last - shop at Stanton. Otherwise, take your business elsewhere.
what quality and all wood good prices.
This is a store you must see. Real wood furniture . I can't think of anything that is made of wood that they don't have. Great selection . The people I worked with were so nice and very informative. No particle board here , this is the real thing and prices very reasonable.
They have bedroom-dinning-kids rooms-entertainment. I also saw bookcases but did not get any.I highly recommend you spend time in this store.
Horrible customer service.. If you are willing to sacrifice customer service for mediocre quality and price, shop here. The staff and managers are incredibly rude and promise items in stock when they are not. It is a completely unprofessional atmosphere.
incredible quality for a reasonable price. i have purchased serveral pieces of furniture from stantons over the years and have found them not only extremely nice but knowlegeble and helpful. they have gone out of there way to help me. I have had some pieces for twenty years and they still look like new . Good Quality Great Service
