Best Indian restaurant in or near Portland, OR. It's an awesome restaurant, but really I'm just writing this to test Citysearch's implementation of Janrain Engage.

Great Indian food. Everything here is so tasty. Their naan is some of the best I've ever had, the portions are really nice, and the lassies are wonderful. The decorations are very nice and I've always had friendly staff too-which is important to me. I highly recommend Swagat.

Not bad for the 'burbs. We eat at Swagat (Beaverton) for dinner occasionally. It's very consistent, always pretty good food at a decent price. It's certainly not the best Indian food in town, but for the price it's fine. They refurbished the dining room awhile back and it's now a little nicer -- before it was rather uninviting. Long story short: If you live in Beaverton and are looking for a decent Indian place in the hood, Swagat will fit the bill.

Wonderful Indian food. I've eaten their food for a long time now. My office frequently orders their take-out lunch boxes. The best, inexpensive lunch deal around.

Their buffet has an excellent selection of delicious foods including meatless dishes, so vegetarians will be satisfied too. The other menu items are a real treat, such as the curried shrimp. Yummm!

Good dinner. Nicer than expected. Went on Valentine's day, roses on the tables. Service was good, even with the restaurant filled.

Inconsistent Quality and long wait for takeout at Swagats Beaverton. We have been getting take out from Swagats in Beaverton on and off since we moved to the west side four years ago, taking us much further from NW 21st, but after the last few experiences have decided to drive back to their NW 21st location when we need a curry.

The quality is now so inconsistent that on two of the last three occasions we have had to open a jar of curry sauce, defrost some chicken and make our own. The final straw was tonight when my wife's curry was split and tasted off. The other two times have produced one edible curry.

It is such a shame that the owners are more concerned with selling beer with their new fancy bar, and have let the quality of the food slip in such dramatic fashion.

We were prepared to wait 40 minutes for good curry, but this is no longer good curry, and should be avoided.

Horrified!!!. My friend and I meet up at this Swagat's probably once every two months. I had gotten my food from the buffet, sat down and started to eat. About 30 seconds into eating, I flipped over something that was in my curry and it turned out to be a Budweiser bottle cap! I brought this to the attention of the man that was poring water he looked at me and my friend and I said nothing, grabbed my plate and headed into the kitchen.

I spoke with that lady up front about it; she looked at me and barely could even mutter an apology. I certainly can say I will not be dining there again. It is not so much the bottle cap (it is disgusting) but more or less their poor response to it.

Best deal in town. Ok, keeping all things equal, Swagat's luncheon buffet is phenomenal. 18 course menu and everyitem is tasty. Just smorsh out on your favorites.

I'm from New Mexico and we don't have many asian indian restaurants there - but I was hooked the minute I walked in. that heavenly smell is outasight.

Service can be terrible and sparse, but hey, what do you expect for $7? Can't even eat a meal at McDonalds for that and with a big Mac, you get to bus your own table. Try that on for size.

I like it :). I've been going for several years and enjoy it. I have only gone for the lunch buffet. I tend to only eat the same dishes each time. I highly recommend the Chicken Makhani. That is the best item on the menu and what keeps me coming back time after time. The tandori chicken is good also.

The atmosphere is kind of bland but the prices are quite reasonable for the lunch buffet so that makes up for it :)
