Best Korean food in Portland. We love this place. Great food. I can't say I'm an expert but it feels authentic as we are ALWAYS the only gringos in the place. We love the sampling of little dish appetizers as we wait. Service is mixed. I probably go once a month and have only ever seen the one waiter. Not really unfriendly, just short. While I wouldn't go for a date night, it is family friendly and has great food. The sizzling hot pots always look fun, but we love the cold summer dishes on a hot day!

Best Korean in Portalnd. Been here for lunch and dinner. The banchan are amazing, and more varied than in other Korean places i've been. Portions are excellent - todays bi-bim-bap dinner will also work for tomorrows lunch. and the jjigae are full sized - not "petite".

i've taken a few friends from Korea - they claim the food is exactly what you would get in Seoul at a similar caliber restaurant.

the only downside - service can be slow. but it's ALWAYS worth the wait.

Food 4 stars, Server No Stars!. Food is good consistently but the server who works single-handed is very rude. The restaurant is too busy to have only one server. The server has no patience to answer your questions. He just replies, "Just look at the menu," and will not even stop walking. I recommend other Korean restaurants in the Beaverton that balance food and service quality.

The" recycled" sidedishes!. I use to like this restaurant until the recent visit. We were there on a busy wendesday lunch. As usual there's only one sever during the lunch time. I was asked and being apologized to wait since it's busy. This is totally ok for me since I really like the food there. As we were waiting for our food coming,we have noticed someone walked out from the kitchen and brought a tray with him. Instead of cleaning the table we saw him started to collet those " unfinished" side dishes, and what suprised me more is he picked those napkins ( looks clean and un-used) but put it into his month and got all those things back to the kitchen. Soon out waitor bring our sidedishes to us ............I swear I was so scard to eat any of those and use the napkin on the table.....All I want to say is the service is good, the food is good, but speaking to eating those " recycled" dishes.......eeeeewwwwwwww

Tasty Korean food but.... Food tastes good but it feels like because of too much MSG..

Need to improve the customer service. Waiter is not friendly at all, and too slow in overall

The best Korean food around. This is hands down my favorite lunch spot on the West side. The food is fresh, intense, authentic, delicious, and ample. The service is pleasant and crisp, and only slow at times because it's just one man, the owner, and the place is frequently full. I don't mind a bit - it's worth the wait. I tried another nearby Korean restaurant (and felt like a traitor), and it just didn't measure up to Nakwon. This place transcends its dingy neighborhood with some of the best food I've ever had.

Great Korea food. We love Nakwon and go there regularly. Yes, the service can be a little slow (the owner does everything in the dining room) but the food is worth the wait. The food is consistently delicious, and interesting. They will adjust the spiciness level if you ask, since Korean food can be quite "hot." Definitely one of our favorite restaurants in the Portland area.

Great Korean Food. As another user coined it, "A hole in the wall restaurant." One of the oldest Korean diners around the Beaverton-area, changes, renovations, and improvements on the interior has really enhanced the atmosphere of this popular restaurant. Because of its size, at peak times, large groups may prefer some of the larger restaurants in terms of seating. The service may be just a bit slow but never enough to drive people off because of the great (but relatively inexpensive) food. Perfect place for a nice dinner with a few friends or family.

Hole In The Wall Korean. Its a true hole in the wall, where the looks may scare a way a few patrons. However, what exists in this hole is some of the finest Korean one will find in the area. Its so small and obscure inside that big groups will have trouble finding the space to fit and may subject to waiting awhile. With the staff being so limited and the place so intimate (with streaming KPop in the background), its almost like home cooked Korean.

Korean tastiness that is not too pricey. Service can be slow when there are lots of customers. However, the food is good and not too expensive. I find the amount of appetizers to be perfectly adequate, and I have a hard time finishing them.

They serve their beer in frosted glasses which is a nice touch.
