Poor customer service, poor shoe repairs. I've been to Vanek's three times in the past, each with a small, easy repair jobs for my shoes. I recently took a pair of boots and they completely botched the job. My $300 dollar boots are ruined. I will have to spend a lot more money going to another cobbler to fix their mistake and a complete makeover of the boots will be necessary-like chopping half the shaft off. They were suppose to fix a loose thread and all they did was cut it off. They also completely tore another seam open and made no effort to close it. I'm so disappointed.

They also have the worst customer service of any retail or service establishment I've ever frequented. They did an acceptable job on the three smaller repairs I've had them do so I tried to overlook this aspect in the past but poor service without being able to repair shoes means they have no redeeming qualities.

Great Shoe Service. Vanek's always does a great job on our shoes. We have been going there for many years. However, they are victims of their own success. It can sometimes take a while to get your shoes done. That said, you cannot rush quality.

Poor Customer Service, Poor Shoe Service. I researched this shop, Vanek's shoe repair and was initially impressed with the reviews of it. That being said I took two pairs of shoes to be repaired.

On the day that i was to pick up my shoes, they weren't ready - either pair. One hadn't even been started to be worked on, the other was only half done. The owner made no apologizes for this, and told me that I should be appreciative that I was able to get the shoes within a week. I also was offered no discount. But, instead instructed to return 15 minutes later.

When I returned both pairs were done, again no offer for a discount for the inconvenience and no apologizes. Part of the new toe wasn't even sealed on properly. I got them yesterday, it's already peeling. Also, neither pair had been cleaned, brushed, or polished. When I asked why these things hadn't been done, the other just huffed at me.

NEVER GO TO VANEKS, unless you want to be treated rudely.

Friendly shoe repair!. I've brought many shoes to be re-heeled and repaired and they've always done a great job, been friendly, and given me good advice too!
