Honest, fair, knowledgeable, reasonably priced. I just bought an Audi, so I'm pretty particular about servicing it. My CEL light came on, so I went to have the code read. It turned out to be a heater relay circuit problem in the bank 1, sensor 1 oxygen sensor (my car has 4!). I called several places for estimates. They ranged anywhere between $250 and $450(dealer). I called D & M because I'd had previous experience with them when I owned a VW. They quoted me about $240. I scheduled an appointment for the end of the week while I ordered a new oxygen sensor online. I took my car in and left it with Jon in the morning. He ended up working on the car most of the day, so I was afraid of what that would cost me. He called about 3pm and told me my car was ready and that the balance owed for the service was $125 for an hour-and-a-half labor. I was impressed. Not only did Jon take the time to diagnose and research where this particular sensor was, he charged me only a portion of the time that he spent working on the car. I'll definitely be back!

The last of the honest mechanics: if you have a VW, this is the ONLY place you should take your car!. If you have a VW, this is the ONLY place you should take your car, especially if your warranty period has expired and you are looking for a good shop.

I am a tough critic, and NEVER give 5 stars, but this shop is the most honest and knowledgeable that I have EVER dealt with in 30 years of owning and maintaining VWs. The owner, Dave, has not only been the fairest and best mechanic I have ever had, he does not hesitate to make sure that you are satisfied, and would rather keep your present and future business than let you spend money unnecessarily. If you have any routine maintenance, or repairs, check here first before you go to a dealer for service. They will gladly take a peek, listen to you, give you a fair and honest estimate, even take you out for a test drive, BEFORE taking any money.

As one quick example, I had an intermittent problem that wouldn't show up when he had the car (typical!). He put in new parts but wouldn't charge me until we were sure that it fixed the problem. I was moved by the level of trust that he had in me to bring the car back and pay him if the fix worked. Even further, he looks for ways to save you money (but doesn't cut corners), rather than find ways to get more money out of you. In an age where people forget about relationships and human contact, D&M might be one of the last shops that has integrity and cares about its work and its customers, and knows that a reputation is something to preserve.

Spread the word, we need to keep these folks in business.

Don't judge this shop by the exterior. I have to say, I nearly opted not to leave my car here the night before because it didn't look as professional as the other places I have taken my Audi. I'm so glad I did leave it. You can't judge this shop by the exterior. If you walk in the door, the wall is covered with grateful thank you notes from customers. It is a great place where they are extremely honest, knowledgable, fast and inexpensive. Highly recommended.

Ridiculously honest and straightforward; surprisingly cheap. The best auto repair experience I've ever had in my life. I've never left a mechanic's shop feeling like I owed them money before, but it happened. Dave and his staff constantly go FAR above and beyond the call of duty to help and inform customers, and you can tell they are universally appreciated by all the thank-you notes pasted on their walls. They are affiliated with dealers in the area, so get your vehicle checked out with them, not the dealers, if possible. They do premium oil changes for VWs for CHEAPER than the quick lube places around town.

Added bonus: Dave of D and M resembles the actor Steve McQueen.

Very Honest. Best VW mechanic we've ever had! Very honest and straightforward. They've worked on our '73 bus and our '87 Golf. They both run great. When we bought the bus, they even let us know its limitations and the best way to drive it (to keep it cool). They aren't too expensive (considering some other quotes we've gotten), and if the car needs extra work, they'll tell you exactly what it needs (and if its really necessary to get done). Overall, if you own a VW, this should be your mechanic.
