I recently moved back to Portland from Germany, and was quite surprised by their menu AND the authentic taste of their food. I only wish their beer menu matched how amazing their food is.

Lunchtastic. I had a yummy little lamb burger and fries and Mom had a delicious roast turkey with a fresh tomato/cucumber side salad. The portion and price was just right! The service was very good and the atmosphere was warm. Why would anyone with just a little extra time choose fast food?

Huge disappointment. Gustav's has always been one of our favorite restaurants since it opened. After moving away from metro area 10 years ago, we visited Gustav's last week. Fondue is half what it used to be and costs $8.00 for approx. 1/2 cup full.

I ordered my all time favorite...Shepherd's Pie. The meat was different...turkey (I think) and tasted like it came from the part that went over the fence last. Very disappointing...although the service was fine.

No Way this didn't make best happy hour!. Gustav's has the best fondue in three states. The staff NEVER gives me the "oh boy" look when I come in last minute with 7+ other people. Their happy hour is to die for although I am a little disappointed that the optimator chocolate cake came off the dessert menu. My favorites are: Optimator Beer, Fondue, and the Shepherd's Pie with Caesar Salad.

Best Service, Busy at dinner time but worth the wait, Ask for Justin if you want the best service. We went in on a busy night and once we were seated our server Justin made our experience memorable! He was so attentive and friendly it felt like we were eating at an old friend's house. It was by far the best dining out experience I have ever had. My family and I will definately return for more delicious food and I will be asking for Justin as our server.

Great Service and Food. We love this restaurant ! We live 400 miles from it but fly in often for lunch here. The service has always been great - no exception today. The brats and kraut are excellent and they have great Rubens. The Rubens are HUGE, so make sure you're hungry.

JA!. After spending a year living in Germany, I miss the food a lot. The atmosphere is very close to what you would find in Bavaria, only a little cleaner and brighter. Fantastic fondue! Servers did a great job and the manager stopped by twice and got us another round of beers. Knowledgeable of different styles of German food. Highly recommended and I will definitely be taking visitors here. Not as expensive as the other German establishments in Portland.

Great german food.. I love this place. The food is excellent, the staff is very friendly and there is a certain amount of ambience. My wife and I have dined here alone or we have included our children and both experiences were very nice. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone.

Great food, Great Service, Great atmosphere. We have been to Gustav's several times. Our daughter, now 4, is always with us. They give a free plate of awesome potatos to the kids while waiting for the food. Everyone is friendly, very nice atmosphere, and more food than you can eat! Very nice place for family or romance.

Wunderbar Deutch Essen. Das essen und Bier um Gustav's ist Sehr gut. The food and beer at gustav's is very good. The service is great. Not a date atmosphere but definitly for couples who want good food and a more friendly personal atmosphere....
