Editorial Review for MT Hood Skibowl Winter Resort – by Curtis Waterbury

What To Expect
Mount Hood Ski Bowl offers skiers and snowboarders 65 day runs and 34 night runs, with the longest run (Skyline Trail) rolling on for 3 miles. Ski Bowl's terrain is very diverse, and the picturesque outback offers some of the most challenging runs around with its fast chutes and expansive bowls. The season generally lasts from mid-November to mid-April, and the slopes are less than an hour from Portland.

Boarders Only
Snowboarders will be pumped about the snowboard park, which includes a half-pipe, rail slides and jumps--and no skiers are allowed.

Summer Action
Come summer, Ski Bowl is a perfect place for family fun. Everything from the high-speed dual alpine slide to the Indy Karts to the 100-foot bungee tower make the summer that much more of a blast.

I went to Ski Bowl to check out the tube hill. At $15, it's rather pricey, but the plus side is that there is a tow rope up the first hill that will tow you and your tube to the top. The lines can get long for the tow, but at the end of the day when you're tired and not ready to call it quits yet, it's worth waiting. The steeper extreme hill farther up doesn't have a tow line, unfortunately, but the slope is longer and faster and therefore quite fun. It gets crowded here on weekends and holidays, but if you get there early enough you can enjoy some time on the hill without the large crowds.
