hidden gem of Gresham! I've been going here since I was a kid. Their soft serve ice cream was always so good :)

Best burgers ever! Friendliest staff, too. :). Stopped in on a Sunday evening after a hike. The atmosphere was relaxed and welcoming. The waitress seemed to know everyone in the restaurant; we even saw her help an elderly customer to her car. The burgers were amazing: warm and juicy. And unlike what you get at fast food places, they actually looked good, too! The tater tots were crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. This is obviously a place where they still take pride in customer service and really good food. One word to the wise- they don't take debit, visa or checks, although they do have an ATM with a $1.75 fee.

I've wanted to go here since I was 3 years old.... Best dang comfort food in PDX. I've always wanted to try this place, and I'm really glad I did. The staff was really pleasant, the environment was a little dull, but what can you expect for under $10 each? Now that I've finally visited the Polar King, I know I'll go back often.

Our favorite "local" breakfast place. Family Friendly - Friendly service. Small diner feel and a staff that makes you feel welcome. The first time we were there with our 8mo. old daughter, our waitress went out to her own car and gave her a toy to keep her busy! With the "home cooked" meal we ordered being so good and at a reasonable prices we have been hooked ever since. Polar King has been around before most of the businesses in it's area and we know why.

We order take out from Polar King frequently and the food is just as good than if you were to have "sit down" service.

Best little-known diner around.. This small place is not widely known, but those who take the time to stop and enjoy it will understand why it has been in business for so long. The restaurant is a little on the small side, and resembles the typical diner. However, it is hardly ever crowded inside, and this makes for a more personal feel and enables the waitress to give more individual attention.

The food is always very good, especially the large old-fashioned burgers and large fries. But you'd better bring your appetite because portions are always large. For example, don't be fooled by their small shakes, which as you may find out are clearly a large. There's nothing bad to say about their burgers and crispy fries, which put any fast food to shame. Their soups and desserts are just as good, and there's a huge selection of shake flavors which is appealing to kids. Because it is hardly ever crowded, expect top notch service from the polite waitresses.

Many regulars come in who rave about the tasty old-fashioned food and are usually fond of the staff. If your on your way to the mountain on U.S. 26, you can't miss the giant polar bear sign on the right hand side near downtown Gresham. If you want a quiet, comfortable, and historic little diner with excellent food and service, you can't miss out on this secret place. Just don't tell too many people about it!
