Very Poor attitude overall. Upon entering gal was not friendly and left me standing as I am handi caped. Took forever to check out as her counting her money was more important than our service.
Bland food- "We don't care" attitude. Started out great, nice atmosphere, friendly hostess. Garlic Fries appetizer was great but swimming in a pool of oil at the bottom. Clam chowder and Hungarian Mushroom soups were amazing. The greatness ended there. Grilled Salmon was dry but ok. Veggies looked and tasted freezer burnt as if literally dumped from a frozen package and heated to a nasty softness then sprinkled with something weird and served without butter. Mashed potatoes were ice cream scooped on the plate then smothered in a terrible brown gravy. Chicken Madeira was literally swimming in what seemed to be brown gravy and topped with limp asparagus that tasted like old Chinese food veggies. They dumped so much gravy on that the veggies, potatoes and main course were all covered. We ate a third of our plates and asked for our check. The waitress didn't ask how the food was, just took the mostly full plates and left a $42 tab on the table. When we paid at the front desk, we told the checker we didn't like the food and she smiled, said she was sorry and rang us up, nothing more. We will never go back.…
Delish!. One of mine and my husbands favorite places. People that said you have got to be old to eat here because the food is bland must have some serious cholesterol issues!! I love seasoning (not alot of salt but alot of GOOD seasoning) and this place has it. The hungarian mushroom soup is the best ( little salty but still the best) this is the first thing ordered, right as we sit, one bowl to split. If you are a regular always ask for what is not on the menu. As for me I love the onion poppyseed salad dressing! Love this place and would recommend to anyone.…
Truffle Hunter. I had no coupon. But after eating there twice, i can tell you WHY they have to give out 2fers coupons. Most were elderly people who cannot taste their food anyway. And free meal sounds good to people on fixed incomes... I ordered their "famous mushroom soup". It was tasteless, bland, lumps of white powder,(white flour)? in the soup. Not even hot. I added salt, I added pepper. But the lumps did me in. Gross! I was gagging. The accompanying "homemade famous bread" was so not up to par. It was so old and stale & it was like eating falling apart crackers. The crumbs went all over me and the table. Tasteless also. I am NOT a smoker. I like to use spices when cooking. Second time, i ordered tuna sandwich. Well, it was like chewy something. I did not recognize what it was.Brown shredded meat. Super fishy tasting. I think they used cat food! I am not joking. It was fishy tasting, super chewy like no other tuna salad i have ever eaten.Maybe it was porpoise meat? I told my waitress when she finally showed up, i could not eat this. She got the owners wife. This old bag questioned me like she was SS and then her husband came out and glared at me and she told him to wrap it up " for dad" And take it home for his dinner." How disgusting is that? Some poor old man got my bitten into sanwich!! Also she insisted indignant that the bread is baked there daily. Maybe so, but what day and from what freezer? These are the kind of people you are dealing with here. NO scruples. God knows what else goes on in that kitchen?! Never ate their again. And don't plan to even if they give out food for FREE. And FREE is always a very good price....…
STINGY WITH COUPONS - SLOW - CRAMPY. Hello friend. With a myriad of restaurants in the Gresham area best to pass on this one. The Trufflehunter is in a house built in 1907 - small rooms. NOT good for groups over 10 as my Red Hat group found out. Chairs were set literally touching one another. We chose this restaurant because several of us had a 2 for 1 coupon. Red Hatters do lunch a lot and have used 2 for 1 coupons in at least a half dozen restaurants in the Gresham area. The Trufflehunter would honor only ONE. Waitress told us they would go out of business if they had to honor 3 coupons at one table. Gee. Arrived for 1:00 lunch. Food started arriving at 1:55 p.m. All I can say is YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!…
