The Best Hair Cut Ever Wow.
Thank You bookisblonde for the very nice review. Cheryl
simon....Again, I am sorry for the misunderstanding with your appointment. The great success of DuBois Salon and spa is our attention to detail, I am sad you were not able to have the appointment of your dreams so you too could have had this grand experience. I wished you would have given me the opportunity to make your birthday evening pleasurable but you were threatening and screaming too loud.
i buckland......It is not uncommon for someone to wait 3 weeks for an appointment at DuBois. I am sorry you had to wait, it is true that that we are booked out for weeks and sometimes months with appointments. Your pedicure was performed in the foot area, someone else sat down in the opposite chair to wait because she likes those chair better than the waiting area. You told me you were concerned with your excessively dry and cracking feet . I did not intend to embarrassed you but instead help you; it seemed painful.
Located in historic downtown Gresham, Dubois Salon is top notch in their knowledge of hair care, hair cutting, and hair coloring; all with an artistic flair. As a native, I've been to a lot of salons in the Portland-metro area, and Dubois Salon is, without a doubt, one of the best I've experienced. Highly recommended.
TERRIBLE:I bought my wife a package,
her appointment was for 6/30/2012.
Cheryl the owner Double booked and left my wife standing in the rain. I bought this package for Mothers Day and We are celebrating her birthday today. Big 50Th Party and I was hoping she would enjoy her day at the spa. Cheryl sure messed this gift up. Computers, appointment books and the owner managed to book herself with two people for the same time. Terrible customer service.
I will share this with all 80 of her RSVPs
Guess who had the Gull to call my wife, as if to say " I hope your face didn't add up" on your evening out. My wife hung up on her and told me who called.
My wife was a Mary Kae lady several years. I should have known she would do a better service to herself then Cheryl.
My wife rode in the limo like a Queen, and looked the part the whole night. Believe what you read. you'll never get your moneys worth.
Worst "Spa" experience ever!. Every minute of my so called "spa" experience at DuBois Salon was horrible. From spending two months trying to get an appt for a pedicure, to having to wait for 45 minutes past my appt time once I got there, employees walking past me ignoring me, finally Cheryl the owner doing my pedicure, which consisted of her berating me for the majority of the pedicure for my ugly heels in front of everyone, because there is no space set aside for pedicure appointments, they are done in the waiting area. Very embarrasing! She even went as far as pouring out the dead skin from my feet unto her apron and in front of everyone saying "this is horrible, this is usually what I get from someone in three appointments, not one"! Wow, very uncomfortable. She then proceded to try to sell me products and get a "makeover", both of which were very expensive. My gift certificate was from my Husband for my birthday, it was for $145, I shared it with my daughter, she also got a pedicure and guess what? The total for both our pedicures (two pedicures, that were nothing special by any means) was, you guessed it... exactly $145. What a ripoff. Don't go there and waste your hard earned money. This is no "Rainforest Spa".
Best Spa Experience Ever!.
I am writing in response to KristinAWT's review. I can not believe what she wrote and wonder if it's just a malicious review. It's just outright mean.
I have been a regular customer of many salon services at Dubois Salon for many years. Most of the services I've had have been from Cheryl, the owner. The services I have used dozens of times are: haircuts, hair color and weave, pedicures, and facials. I also buy all my Bumble & Bumble hair products and most of my cosmetics there because her prices are competative..
Cheryl, the owner, has always been very professional with me. She is highly skilled and seeks out ongoing training to keep up on the latest techniques and products, including regular trips to New York City for training. She is a perfectionist in both her professional and personal life. She is gifted with color and design and always offers suggestions to tweak my look. I trust her opinion more than my own because time and time again she has been spot on. I receive many compliments on her work and often give referrals. So, if you're looking for a top-notch stylist, give her a try. I assure you that you will have a great experience!
Worst Spa Experience Ever!. From the time of booking until I got back into my car after my "treatments" I honestly have to say this experience was a disaster! I got a gift card from my husband for "The Mist" package, which was supposed to be 7 hours of treatments. When I booked it, the timeframe was only 5 hours. I told the woman on the phone that I didn't think this was right, but she assured me it was, and I would get the full length of treatments and that the other 2 hours were factored in for waiting times between treatments. When I got there, I waited at least a half hour before I was led into a room and then left there for another 20 minutes or more. The person that was supposed to be tending me was out sick and the owner was going to be doing my treatments herself. I thought that would be great, since the owner would surely be the most experienced. WRONG! After talking my ear off for over 45 minutes I was rushed through my very abbreviated treatments and out the door with wet toenails and a broken flip-flop. The "pedicure" was nothing more than the woman sticking my feet in scalding hot water and then painting my toenails! She kept messing up the paint on both my toes and my fingernails and having to redo them. (No exaggeration) The majority of the time was this woman trying to sell my her products, and me being stressed if I was going to be late for my date with my husband. The facial was supposed to take about and hour, but I only got 2 masks that lasted 15 minutes total. This day was supposed to be special as it was going to be our first date since our baby was born 2 years ago. I felt rushed, annoyed, and stressed when I left the spa. To top it all off Sheryl, the owner, called me a few weeks later to ask about my experience. When I politely told her that I was disappointed she basically said "I am sorry you feel that way." and left it at that. So much for her guarrantee printed on the gift card, brochures, and website! Stay away from this "spa"!
Inexperienced. The stylist that I had for my haircut was not helpful at all. I wanted to update my haircut but still keep its length because it grew out. She didn't know what to do and offered no suggestions for a cut. She insisted that I can style my hair as is with product instead of cutting it. She didn't seem knowledgable about "young" cuts. She was too methodical in measuring my layers. I don't think I'll be going there anymore.
Great salon!. I received a horrible haircut a week ago at another salon in the area. Dubois is fairly close and I'd heard they were good so I called them in tears and asked for someone who was really good at fixing bad haircuts. I got in quickly to one of their senior staff because of the circumstances and couldn't be happier. I showed her what a mess I had and asked if it was fixable. I have long hair and also didn't want to lose a ton more length. She did an amazing job fixing it and I am so happy I found this salon. They are all extremely nice and helpful. She explained everything she was doing, and why, and made sure it was OK before she started cutting. If you are looking for a really great salon, I'd really recommend Dubois. Highly recommend!
