Editorial Review for Ram Big Horn Brewing Co – by Mary Morley

In Short
Sports fans and young couples crowd into the booths of this restaurant's expansive dining room to munch on standards like salads, sandwiches, burgers, steaks and seafood. Upstairs, there's a big screen TV, pool tables and a dance floor. The drink menu includes unusual ales--like the chocolate cream stout--along with Portland favorites like Big Horn Hefeweizen and Buttface Amber Ale.

This place is way under-rated. I think that everyone who loves this place wants to keep it a secret so they refuse to write a good review. This place is beautiful. Right on the water. Great tvs and sport viewing. I love to play pool. They have nice tables. I love beer. They have quality beers and full bar. Do not listen to these other reviews. Maybe you will wait five extra minutes for your food, but all other aspects are unbeatable. I only hang out in the upper-bar-part of the place, so maybe the restaurant area is terrible or something? Go figure. And try this place out.

Pros: Great atmosphere. Right on the water. Beers are flowing.

Cons: All these other reviews...

2 Star Rating: Below Average

I went for lunch with a friend. She ordered the coconut shrimp and I got a burger and fries. Her first plate of shrimp was almost completely uncooked - the shrimp were gray and nearly raw. She very nicely informed the waitress, and a second plate came a few seconds later, nearly as raw. She sent it back again, giving up. While this was going on, we ordered alcoholic beverages from the bar, and had to wait nearly 15 minutes for our drinks. Mind you, the place was not packed. We finished our first drink and when we ordered the second drink, the wait was even longer. While the drinks and the burger and fries were OK, and they did try to make up for things by giving my friend a comped dessert, it was still a below-average experience and I will not be going back.

Pros: Location, View

Cons: Long Wait, Uncooked Shrimp
