Great neighborhood hangout... I Love Gubancs! I've been going there every Friday night for the past three years, and it's definitely the best place in town. The food is consistently great, with spectacular specials. I like the comfortable atmosphere, and all the different personalities of the staff. Steve and Jason are great, along with Sheri, Alice and the staff. I would recommend it to anyone!! It's very fast paced, so don't hesitate to introduce yourself, and you will never be forgotten.

Horrible and Rude Treatment. We ordered three meals. Two of the meals of the meals we ordered were not as described on the menu. We told the waitress right away and she took the meals away. The waitress and the owner were both very rude to us. They made us pay for the one of the two meals we did not want to eat. The waitress grabbed my credit card and put the charges on it while I was still arguing with the owner over having to pay for one of the two meals we could not eat. I gladly paid for the one meal that was acceptable.

I was under the impression that if I did not pay for one of the meals that they might have me charged with theft. I have been a customer of this restuarant for over 20 years and I will never go back.

Good food, not family friendly. Great food, but not family friendly. Only 1 high chair and no changing station. We were excited for a night out at one of our past favorite places, but had to leave the restaurant after being seated because the only high chair was in use. We asked management, and they didn't seem to care.

User review by shep1. The food here was excellent....once we were seated. Beware of the VERY small 'bar' area, and the fact that the 4 - 6 tiny tables there are considered dining room seating...what you've waited 45 minutes for. Also, don't go hoping to mingle with a 30 or even 40-something crowd. We went on a Friday evening and it felt like we were at a grandparents mixer. Maybe try lunchtime instead. Again, the food was EXCELLENT. I tried one of the chef's weekly specials, and you couldn't get a more creative, quality meal at any area restaurant.

Tired of the chain resturant's?. Good home style food, great drinks and fantastic service; what more could you ask for? Combine this with Lake Oswego's eclectic clientle and it has the makings of a super evening.

Wonderful!. We frequent many restaurants, but Gubanc's is one of our favorites. The selections are wonderful..you must try their summer salads with the fresh fruits...incredibly good.

The water glasses are never empty, there is never a need that we have to ask for, service is impecable.

Exceptional Food. My cousins and I had dinner at Gubanc's a year ago, and I haven't had as good a meal since. I can still remember the sweetness of the black berries in the salad. Absolutely exceptional food, with an ambience and atmosphere that is very relaxing.

It is a great restaurant, even though my last name is also Gubanc.

Just a great little place. This is the perfect neighborhood diner. Everybody else knows it, too, so go AS SOON as they open (11 AM), in mid-afternoon, or later in the evening. Juicy burgers, fresh salads, and a nice wine list. Check out the clam chowder (third Tuesday of the month) and the halibut fish and chip special on Fridays.
