OK, I was really steaming when I wrote. OK, I was really steaming when I wrote the first review. Maybe I should have counted to 10. Here is the update. We went back to court because of an error in the court system and I lost the case. The judge found in favor of MainLander. I accepted his decision... Since then a judgment was put on my credit report for the loss case. This really ticked me off since I was the plaintiff. I contacted Sue and she was really responsive in helping me clear up the matter. I was shocked. She went down to the court house the same day and filed payment. She also wrote a letter for me to help remove it from my credit. Somehow the court reported the case, not MainLander.

I believe in my heart that Sue is changing. She is listening and I must say I would give them a second chance. I hope we will see more positive stories about MainLander. I was a strong critic but Sue has worked hard to do the right thing.

Do waste your money...Dont move in!!!!. This is my second review because Mainlander has reported the first one and it was removed. So I will be PC on this one. It is simple. If you want to work with honest, professional rental companies. Mainlander is NOT the place. I have won a judgement in court because they kept my security deposit. BEWARE...do not rent any apartment from MainLander. Terrible service and cheaters. I will not name names but read the rest of the reviews. They definately paid to get some good reviews. Just read them. Lacking any kind of detail and just general remarks. If you read the bad reviews they are very consistant. Why take a chance when there are so many good apartments to rent! But if you do rent then you will save others the trouble because you will be back to write a terrible review. And if you are not back then thank God (i hope thanking God is PC in Portland) they changed because they learned in the day of reviews you cant treat your customers like TRASH.…

BUYER BEWARE: 5 Star Ratings had to Paid for by Mainlander!!. In the summer of 2003 I was looking at rental properties for myself and 4 young children. We had moved here from Arizona. We had a very unpleasant experience with Mainlander, details of which I have fortunately forgotten. Fully aware that it was against my better judgement, I decided to give them another chance because my children wanted to live in one particular home in the old neighborhood we lived in when we moved here. Suffice it to say, I could not have expressed more interest in the property even asking if I could submit my application before viewing it, in order to speed the process. The leasing agent was complacent, didn't attempt to make any kind of relationship with me, and when I told him I had my application and a check, he offered no assistance, and the day I was to come back with my children, he called to cancel the appointment saying the home had just been rented. Nice!! I should also mention that it was VERY challenging to get information from the main office; I sent e-mails and made phone calls that were never responded to. I tried for weeks to get answers about the repairs being made to the property that were delaying the option to view the property. THIS BUSINESS IS CLEARLY A MONEY-MAKING MACHINE...GREED AT ITS WORST!!!!!!! Mainlander's principals, it would appear, have very poor ethics!! I HIGHLY SUGGEST ANY OTHER PROPERTY MANAGEMENT OR RENTING DIRECTLY FROM A PROPERTY OWNER, AS THIS COMPANY'S LONG-STANDING POOR REPUTATION IS ALL OVER THE INTERNET.

Thank you for having a star on your team and mine!. I wanted you to know how great one of your employees is, Salena Sanford, and the attention she gives to my account. Here is a copy of the email I sent to her this past week. Additionally, she was able to go FAR above the call of duty to find the manufacturer of my broken window covering. I was so discouraged at the possibility of bearing the cost for the tenants recklessness. She has found the parts and the charges will go to the tenant. This had to be extremely time consuming and very difficult. Salena knows her business and was quite impressive in making the Iowa Drive unit move-in ready in a very small window of time.
