Nelsons is the BEST CLUB EVER!!!. I have been a Nelsons Member for years, I have to keep re-signing up because I keep moving out of the area, then I move back. I have never had a problem. They always welcome me and give me the same great deal. I am a lifter and there is no other gym that combines a friendly environment and a serious lifting experience all in one. While there are allot of great looking people here, it is not a typical meat market gym. I always have the feeling I am a part of a great group of healthy people. I go there to escape. No other gym like it in Portland Metro area. This Gym is like a Golds Gym before they sold out!!! The new owner Johny is a great business man and you can tell he is making positive changes. I do have to say that the Oregon City Location is the true gem, but the Milwaukie location is getting much better. Great Staff! Not a professional business. I had joined with the location in Oregon City and signed a 1yr contract. They never provided a copy of the contract to me. So my 1 year membership was up and they had continued to charge my bank for monthly payments, as if I still had a membership. When I called to see what was going on the manager explained that I had 7 day after my 1yr was up to cancel (which was in the contract I never received) and if I did not send in a cancellation request that my membership automatically renews. They were not willing to refund the charges. So with what I said, be sure if you sign up with them to get a copy of the contract and pay close attention to the verbage in the contract or they will just continue to renew your membership and not refund any charges.
