Good for people who don't know good food. So I just can't figure out how the sandwich I ate can be called anything but terrible. Maybe they had an off day or possibly the location I visited is trying to save money by ripping off the customer. Either way it is disappointing.
I love Scholtzsky's. I'm from Austin. I've been eating Schlotzsky's for years. I'm so happy to have one in the area. I guess you either love em or hate em. I love em. I always get the original. This Schlotzsky's is always clean and I'm always happy with my sandwich. In fact, I'm gonna go have one right now!
Piled high with something but it ain't meat.
The pictures, the descriptions, the fact that the restaurant has Deli in it's name led me to believe that they would have some quality meats and a fair amount on a sandwich. Instead was served something I made with the little bags of Carl Buddig meats and assorted leftovers from my college days rooming with Nick... the overweight actor wannabe. Come on guys you serve a $7 sandwich, call it a World Famous Original and give me a hamburger bun with iceburg lettuce a single slice of ham (not exaggerating), 3 little circles of salami burnt to a crisp in grease, tasteless cheese, a black olive cut in half and a yellowing tomato? You guys suck. I'll be sure my friends and coworkers know it too.
No second chances for you.
Freshly baked deli favorites draw casual diners to this gourmet sandwich shop..
In Short
Since 1971, familiar green, white and red marquees have greeted patrons looking for international-style deli sandwiches. Starting with "The Original" sandwich--piled with three meats, three cheeses, mustard, marinated black olives, onion, lettuce and tomato on a fresh-baked sourdough bun--the menu has expanded to include zippy jalapeno-cheese bread; soups like Boston clam chowder and broccoli cheese; albacore tuna and chicken-pesto pasta salads; healthy wraps; and creative eight-inch pizzas like Thai chicken and Tuscan herb.
