Tips for Rendezvous Grill

Best meal and service EVER. My family and I were passing through on the way to Sunriver. We stopped in and had the most tremendous lunch as a family we could unaminously agree was one of the best meals we have ever had. The service was very professional. Our waitress was a little cute young lady, she had such a kind soft voice my son is having his first 12 year old crush!

The meal we ordered was so tasty, the the burgers were cooked all the way through, but yet so tender and juicy, the wine list is impressive. My wife and I enjoyed a glass together, again very impressive. The staff was very courteous and mature, I asked who the cook was and was told her name was Laura, I hope she is still there on our next visit,

As a family it is becoming increasingly hard to find a place to eat where the whole family can enjoy a meal and all agree it was a fun experience. The Rendezvous has nailed it, we will be back!

One of Welches' best treasures.. The Rendezvous Grill is a great restaurant. It is one of the best ones on the mountain (the Cascade Dining room at Timberline is also wonderful), and they consistently use fresh, local ingredients in creatively culinary ways. It is always a treat to go there, even if it just to hang out on the pub-side to eat some calamari and to have a lemon-drop or two.

I've only had one questionable moment there with too salty risotto, which the staff quickly remedied with a fast-replaced meal with prolific apologies and consideration. We eat there frequently, and the menu is always evolving and changing with the seasonally available foods, and ever-experimenting chef so we never get bored. Lots of surprises. The pastries are TO DIE FOR. Beware the pastry-tray... it is a thing of evil--I warn you.

You can enjoy higher-end dining at a decent price in your casual attire at this restaurant. I always have the escargots, because it's one of the few places I know of where I can actually get them. They have an excellent beer and wine selection, the service is EXEMPLARY... I'm sure as with all restaurants, that bad days happen, however as regulars, please let me assure you as a mean this restaurant is top-notch every day. They are eager to please, and extremely friendly and accomodating. I recommend that you pay little heed to bad reviews written by one-time visitors who happen to have a single bad experience and whine about it. We go there at least 4 times monthly and I am notoriously grumpy about service and maintaining standards, and I've only had to grumble at our server once in all of our visits.

Recommended treats? Try the Creme Brulee, no matter what form it's presented it, or if anything, just save room for dessert, their desserts are SO good (and evil). Also, if you're not a squeamish baby, try the escargots... always nummy. The chef also does a mean duck too.

All around it's a fantastic restaurant and I'm so glad it's in my town. ::yay::

Great food, extensive wine list, friendly service.. We've been going to the Rendezvous for nearly 10 years and our experience is always the same, good at every level. The food is consistently tasty, perfectly seasoned and creative. Not your ordinary "mountain food" their soups, sandwiches, pasta dishes and appetizers are fresh, clean flavors. When we eat in the Hoodland area, it's always at The Rendezvous, always. Their alder smoked chicken pasta with hazelnuts & cream sauce is pure heaven as is their bacon/apple sandwich. Oh and try their calamari too, it's a sure bet if you like calamari.

Unfulfilled potential. The restaurant has a nice Bavarian style atmosphere. Service started off good but ended poorly (even though they had plenty of staff on hand). I ordered the razor clams. The dish itself was imaginative and had a nice flavor but it came out cold (not just the clams - the sides were also cold). I should have sent it back. My wife's salmon and chips were over-cooked and weren't very good at all. We requested to see their dessert tray (which is supposedly a strength of theirs), but after an additional 15 minutes of being ignored, I told the waiter to forget about it. We won't be going back.
