45.489715 -122.475549The resturaunt upon entry was dark, the ceiling had water stains every where, we were the only ones there,at dinner time on a saturday, the tea was cold and no imitation sugar, the egg flower soup was bad and cold, The food was as nasty as an old shoe and was made with canned sauce,The batter they used on the shrimp , egg rolls, etc was something I have never seen nor tasted, the meat I beleive was imitation and to top it all off, I found a hair in the chow mein, if that is what it was.we ate very little and left the rest their I hardly ever complain but this was the worst I have ever.had.
Bang for your buck?.
Good Chinese food for a good price. I love the eggplant with tangy sauce and get it every time I'm there. As well as the pineapple chicken dish. Portions are plentiful. Well seasoned. Nice family style dishes. Orders come out fast too.
The restaurant is nicely decorated. Very adorable little family restaurant.
Ding Cheong Recycles Food Made in Error.
My husband and I went to Ding Cheong Restaurant last night at around 7:15 pm. I ordered a Chicken Chow fun with vegetables (one that comes with gravy,) but they brought out a regular Chicken Chow Fun (dry & brown Chow Fun with dark soy sauce.) The waitress informed me about the error as soon as she put the food on our table - and asked if I would accept it. I said no and would like my original order.
The waitress brought the dish back to the kitchen. About 5 minutes later, she came back with the food. I took a bite before realizing it was the same dish, but with Bok Choy, carrots, and onions added on top!
I complained to the waitress when she came back. At first she insisted it was indeed the original dish that I had ordered and that everything was “fresh.” When we reminded her that we had both dishes in her restaurant as well as other restaurants in the past, and we know the obvious difference, she apologized. Later, she came back to our table and apologized again.
Before we left, we paid our bill in full, plus a usual tip for the waitress. At the time we did not wish to penalize her, as we were not sure if the decision to recycle the rejected food was made solely by the kitchen. This is a decision we now regret.
Yummmmy. This is our favorite Chinese restaurant to dine in or take-out. I love the fact that for take out, they serve the meat seperate from the sauce (sweet & sour pork, lemon chicken, etc).
