horrible. we have lived in these apartments for nearly 6 months and i can not wait till our lease is up. the management is horrible. from the very begining we shouldnt have moved in they gave away our original apartment and made us wait an additional 8 days till a second one was ready. they are very inconsiderate people. the gounds often had losts of garbage around it. parking was nearly impossible and when parking on the street you get tickets. whenever we complained to the managers about anything if it was parking or one night we came home and there was a guy sleeping in the bushes or about insects they always gave the same answer "oh this has never happend before" it gets really old when paying to them when they dont do a thing about anything. we often would get notices on our door that were in accurate once saying we didnt pay rent, when we did and when we went to complain after our 4th letter they said oh we make mistakes and guess what that following monday there was another one on our door. if i could move out now i would. A Big Disappointment.
I have lived in Jackson School for just over 2 years, and completely concur with all of the points in the previous review (i.e. water is
shut off commonly with no notice, management doesn't enforce any rules, etc). I would also like to add the following complaints:
- ROOF LEAKS: Our roof started leaking last winter, and water was litterally running down the wall at 10pm on a Friday night. I called the apartment emergency repair pager number twice, and nobody EVER responded...not even the next Monday morning. I had to put buckets under it and call them on Monday again myself to request repairs, which didn't happen for another two weeks...while the rain continued!
- ANTS: In the spring we started seeing a lot of ants everywhere inside our apartment. They kept getting worse and worse over the course of several weeks, until finally they were so bad that the exterminator HAD to be called. It took two more weeks of spraying before they finally went away.
- RENT HIKES: We only moved in here because the price at the time was significally lower than nearby apartments. The rent remained low for two more years...then very suddenly on the next lease offer they started asking for 20% more rent, and wouldn't budge at all. In every other apartment I have lived in I have NEVER seen a rate hike of this much at once, and they have ALWAYS been at willing to negotiate their rate hikes.
- PICKY ABOUT STUFF ON YOUR PORCH: If you put anything on your porch other than outdoor furniture, you will get a note on your door requesting that you remove it immediately.
- PICKY ABOUT A/C BEING INSTALLED: They won't allow any A/C to remain installed through the winter months. And they insist on their own repairman doing the installation. So if you want A/C, you have to call him twice a year to keep getting it re-installed and then uninstalled. I have no idea of the reasoning behind this rule.
- APPLIANCES ARE OLD AND FALLING APART

WORST APTs THAT WE HAVE EVER LIVED IN.
Pool and hot tub are generally either broken or filthy.
Maintenance requests take months for simple repairs.
Very cheap construction - water pipes break somewhere in the complex pretty much weekly and for some reason they turn off the water to the whole complex with no warning on a regular basis.
Management will not enforce the dog mess clean-up rules.
Management will not enforce the noise rules.
Generally the grounds are littered with cigarette butts and empty bottles/cans.
Definitely not worth the money, we are leaving as soon as our lease is up.
Would not recommend Jackson School Village to anyone.
