HCM was recommended to us by a friend
and ever since we learned about HCM we are very thankful we are blessed with a good friend and a very good school.
Our son entered HCM as a pre-schooler and our purpose of sending him to school is to improve his social behavior. Our son before entering HCM is a strong-willed boy and he is a bully to other kids, he pushes kids and can't even wait for his turn. We were totally impressed when Ms. Heather and Ms. Kaycee transformed our son within a month. We know he tested and challenged Ms. Heather's rule, good thing he never prevails. Now our relatives and even our friends have commented how well-behaved he has become. He is now self-directed and can easily obey rules and regulations. We can now go to the library and leave him at Christian Sunday schools without us worrying of his behavior.
Also, we are thankful Ms. Heather has something for parents too. With all the parent resources she has shared and all the advice, the continuity of changing our son's behavior doesn't stop at 12:30. We learned about parenting techniques too.
We highly recommend HCM to our friends and they have also witnessed the progress of our child and they told us if their kid is at the right age for schooling they will send them directly to HCM. Initially we thought of sending our son just for 1 year at HCM but have totally changed our plan and we will look forward for his kindergarten year with lots of laughter and memories to share in the future. We always believe a child needs to have a good behavior to succeed well academically and I know we are on the right path with HCM.…
Couldn't be happier with this school!. Our two daughters are currently enrolled at Happy Children's Montessori and it's one of the best decisions we've ever made. First off I am a firm believer in the Montessori methods so I did plenty of research on places for our daughters to attend. After visiting several places I knew HCM was the right fit. Heather is a wonderful teacher! And Kaycee, the other teacher here, is just as wonderful! Together they make a great team. They really take the time with every student and move at the pace that each child is comfortable with. Since starting here our girs have learned how to read, they have acquired great behavioral skills, and have learned many practical life skills. Our girls can't say enough positive things when they come home from school! We are very impressed and know we made the right decision!…
Could not ask for a better school!.
When I went to Heather's school to observe, it was like nothing I'd ever seen before. I went home and excitedly told my husband that I had found THE school for our preschool age son.
Heather patiently reinforces self-control, proper social behavior and helps them to become independent learners in all areas. Although Heather covers the basics, she covers so many other things that lead to healthier, well-rounded minds including singing and french.
Our son struggled with the fine motor skills needed to print his letters. Instead of making him write his letters over and over, she gave him tasks that were incredibly fun (pin pricking the maps of continents, embroidery and hand stitching) and those very activities helped him to develop the find motor skills he needed, it also left him with tangible art works to bring home and cherish. I taught him cursive in 1st grade and it was a breeze but only because Heather paved the way! And he is still very proud of his maps and hand embroidered/stitched quilt.
My son is now 8 and he has the best memories of being at Heather's school (grinding coffee and washing dishes were his two favorite activities). Our whole family benefited tremendously from all Heather's work.…
My hero!. I have had the pleasure of having had Teacher Heather and Happy Children's Montessori in the lives of my three children. I can not put into words how amazing her classroom is or how a wonderfully gifted teacher she is. Not only did my children receive the best education of their lives but as a parent I also learned so much on how to logically parent my child. Now my children are all to old to be in her class, and are now in elementary school. Every year they have been at the top of their class, and always in an advanced grade for reading and math. Heather gave my children 100 percent of her skills and without her school my children would not have had this amazing start in public school. I wish there were more classrooms and teachers like Heather. She has shaped, molded, and given my children the tools needed to succeed in life, for this I am eternally grateful.…
20 years later, she's still the best teacher I've had!.
Almost 20 years ago, I entered Heather's classroom. I remember my first day. I was three. (It may very well be my first memory). I was in her classroom for the next three years.
It was Heather, and wonderful Montessori curriculum, who first taught me things that would stay in my life forever - my passion for reading, sewing, French, hands-on activities. I can't imagine how I would have turned out as a student if I hadn't started my education in Heather's classroom.
I just graduated from college cum laude, and I whole heartedly believe that it was in her classroom where I developed the steps to get to where I am today.
What a compassionate, loving, intelligent, passionate woman. I would urge any parent to choose Heather as an educator. I just hope she's still teaching when I have kids....…
