Romance in a creepy place. We stayed in a Queen with a private bath. Even this room was way too small. When I opened the door, I could barely get my luggage in without hitting the bed. We picked the romance package which came with a bottle of Edgefield sparkling wine, handmade local chocolates and massage oil. Very nice! We didn't eat here because we both feel McMens has grown tired - and there are so many great new restaurants in McMinn. If you like a tiny room with a creepy atmosphere, this place is for you! Wedding Drunks with LOUD Music. The hotel fails to inform you that there will be a wedding reception 10 FEET from your room. And drunk people will be all over in the halls and outside your window yelling and throwing up. Then they will pass out up above your room and leave the radio blasting ALL NIGHT til 6:30 in the morning. The evening Hotel desk clerk just looks at you with a blank stare when you complain. Oregon wine country's most whimsical and historical inn..
The Scene
The small town of McMinnville can really rock, especially at this historic hotel. The basement Cellar Bar may be a
civilized spot for wine tasting, but Legendary Rooftop Bar goes completely crazy at times. During the annual UFO Fest, it's the scene of the Out of this World costume ball. Where else can a demure wine broker party the night away in full-body tinfoil?
The Details
The McMenamin brothers, a couple of Oregon's original microbrewers, spend their fortune refurbishing historic properties such as this one into works of art. There are just 42 rooms in this 1905 building, some with private baths, some shared with another room and some with access to the common bath. The decor is eclectic and comfortable, with the accent on creativity. It's a popular place for weddings, business meetings and family reunions.

A wonderful, simple place.
Our visit to Hotel Oregon was an experience in "enough". There wasn't a TV in the room, but we didn't miss it. There was a sink in the
room, but you had to go down the hall for the shower and bathroom, and it was fine. The room had a bed, a chair, space for a couple of suitcases, and a really tiny closet that turned out to be perfect for everything we needed to hang.
All in all, you won't overpay for stuff you won't use here. If you're looking for a good night's sleep in a room with a sense of place, this is your spot.
