Perfect food for a wine tasting afternoon!
by shirleysobrano
My husband and I returned to this great spot yesterday and sat outside. The menu seems to be just what you're in the mood for while touring Wilamette Valley. We enjoyed the food and casual atmosphere. Service was a bit unattentive, likely due to a seemingly young staff, but overall we enjoyed the experience again!
- Pros: good menu options
3 strikes and you're out!!!

During our annual Thanksgiving weekend trip to wine country, we usually stop here to have dinner. Well, Dundee Bistro team, this is our last time. Rude, snobby and unattentive service. The manager was very inexperienced in her knowledge of the local area and its wines, hell, she couldnt even tell us about certain dishes on the menu without having to ask the kitchen, then she never even came back to answer it for us!!!
The food was either WAY oversalted or bland depending on the dishes. Completely off the wall combinations of flavors and pairing with the accompinaments. Being a James Beard award winning chef, every aspect of the meal should have shined instead of being overdone and lacking in so many ways. Sorry guys, you lost our business...............
- Pros: Like the previous comment, location
- Cons: rude inexperienced staff, lousy manager, inconsistent food
The Location Must Keep It Open

I am pretty sure that this restaurant is only open because of the location (prime spot in Dundee). The wait staff seems fairly inexperienced, but is routninely rude. I have been here several times (again, because of the location, during a day of wine tasting), and I have never had a great meal. The service is slow, and it takes forever to get refills of water, or to find a server to bring you something you might need. The only reason we usually go here is because if you are wine tasting on the weekends with friends, there are not many options for having lunch with a nice bottle of wine in Dundee. (If only Tina's, next door to the bistro, were open for lunch on weekends - they have fabulous food and service!). No matter how empty the restaurant is when we arrive, we have always had to wait, and are treated like it is a problem to seat us if we do not have reservations. The menu is not that exciting, and much of what I have eaten here has been greasy (fish and chips) or poorly seasoned. I can hardly wait until (1) Tina's opens for lunch on weekends, or (2) a new restaurant opens in Dundee with good atmosphere, friendly service, and a decent wine list.
- Pros: Location - Near Wine Tasting, Good Wine List
- Cons: Service, Food
