Bad Italian night.wrrrrrrrr.
Caro Amico is great dont get me wrong, but I was their on wednesday night.10-26-2011, and i order the angel hair pasta with pesto sauce and sausage, but all i got was a pile of crap on my plate,The
angel pesto look like glue on my plate, so dry, no taste what so ever, I really dont know if the girl they have cooking knows how to cook.and is not the first time, i had this happen to me. I been here alot ,I always order the pizza,
but this night i wanted to have something different with my friends, but i dont think ill be changing my mind anytime soon, In my opinion,i will stick with the pizzas, they are soooo goood.…
I didn't invite the in-laws, Thank goodness..
Three years ago I told everyone "Caro Amico is the best Italian food in the city". Tonight, I brought the family down for the first time in a two years. Pathetic! What happened?! Canalloni was
terrible; the filling looked like something from the grassy hill part of waterfront park. 7 raviolis no side? Were those prawns boiled before they went into the scampi? My wife said "We should have just gone to Olive Garden".
( Sigh. )
Used to be amazing, now it sucks.
Perhaps, Meglio tirare a campare che tirare le cuoia.…
Great Atmosphere.
I have been here quite a few times and I love the bar most of all. If you get a chance to sit in the upper dining area, the view is great!
The pizza is great and so are the calzones!
It's a great location off Barbur and the Ross Island bridge is real close for the SE Folks.
I have always had great servce!…
Oooh, Be Careful--Better Places. Good service, and OK bread. That's it for the positives. Overpriced (wayyy!) and small portions, skimpy on cheese (I had the Calzone and it was mostly marinara sauce and raw veggies inside--really pretty awful). Chicken Piccata was $19, and chicken was flavorless--alfredo was floury. The $21 Baked ravioli with shrimp, again was smothered in red sauce and only had five small ravioli with little to make it anything beyond amateur chefish. The "jumbo" stuffed mushrooms were each about an inch wide, and had about 1/2 teaspoon of stuffing. I was appalled at this meal, and will never return to or suggest this restaurant. The people who gave good reviews have probably not had good italian food. The Macaroni Grill happy hour food was far superior to this and was about $12 total.…
Great Food and Pizza. We have been there 30+ times since the late 70's and have never had a bad meal or service. The drinks are also always good. Parking can be tight on some nights and so is the seating in the main dining area. But overall the food is the reason to go there, and it's sister restaurant in NE PDX, Amalfi's on Fremont.…
