Park Avenue Cafe

Overpriced and owner arrogant. I have visited this cafe often, but after paying almost $8 for a tuna sandwich with very little filling, I took it back. I had previously had the same sandwich with so much tuna salad that it made a huge lunch to split with someone else.

The owner said he would give me another sandwich complimentary, but it was fixed with the same meager filling. When I showed the owner, he said what's wrong...when I pointed out that at least an inch around the entire sandwich had no filling, he said that that was the way they made him.

I won't go back to pay almost $8 for a sandwich that is really only a half sandwich. It was not the best tuna salad anyway. Mc Menamin's is on the other side of the building and their food is much better, and their sandwiches are always full of whatever is advertised!…

Great place for a cup of coffee and lighter fare. The Park Ave. probably isn't a great place to stop for a big lunch. Their sandwiches and wraps are well-made and very fresh, but portions are small, overpriced and kind of flavorless. And if you're fussy about being served, then look elsewhere: you bus your own table here.

But if you're stopping in for a cup of coffee, a croissant or pastry, or a bagel and a bowl of soup, then the Park Ave. is a great idea. Its hard to find a better croissant! The staff are very nice and polite, and service is reasonably fast. Great atmosphere and view of the park blocks!…

Worst service ever!. If you want to go to a cafe with poor customer service (inexperienced servers and kitchen chefs), and are willing to pay overpriced food items, then you should go here! The owner definately needs to train his employees to understand the concept of customer service. The staff here obviously do not understand what that means. Perhaps, the owner's frequent absence is the cause of such poor customer service from his employees. I rarely see him and I go in about every other day! I have been going here for almost a year now. I always get the usual drink and food. Today, I decided to get something different. I decided to get a breakfast bagel. I walked in, there were only 3 tables occupied in the whole cafe, and no one in line. I ordered my usual drink and the breakfast bagel for take out. My drink came fast, however I was waiting for my bagel for at least 15 minutes! Does it seriously take that long to make a bagel when there is NO other customers before me??? I kept on observing the kitchen guy to see what he was doing and why he was taking a long time... I was frusterated to see that I caught him cleaning up/organizing his food containers instead of making my order. After I made direct eye contact with him, he realized that I was waiting for an order and looked surprised that he had forgotten my order the whole time! After he picked up the order slip, I saw him then starting my bagel which took him approximately 3 minutes! I say, woww... I have been here for almost a year now. I have come across situations like these before and I always bit my lip not saying anything about the poor service, however today's encounter definately confirmed just exactly how poor this cafe operates! If you want good coffee, over priced food items, but want to wait until the next day to get your order, then you should try it out...otherwise, go to a different local coffee shop!…
