This family-owned florist has two locations, and both are within walking distance from points downtown, but the blooms are anything but pedestrian. Trademark roses fill many arrangements, while others might make happy marriages of sunflowers and orchids tucked in a bamboo planter. Inexpensive single-stem flowers and foliage are always fresh to go, from agapanthus to oncidium orchids. Same-day deliveries go to Portland and its suburbs.

I high recommend Gifford's. The people are friendly, it has a great selection of flowers and the prices are great. I just moved here from Chicago and enjoy walking by the shop on Broadway everyday and seeing all the flowers. I have ordered off their web site several times and have been thrilled by the flowers and service. Portland is a great city and Gifford's is definately a plus.

Cons: Can be very busy and crowded at times

I was searching for a wedding florist, so I came in for a consultation, and did not like the way they did business. Instead of giving me an estimate right there, they spent only 15 minutes on the consultation and told me that they would figure out the cost and email it to me later... well, it has been a week now and I still have not received an estimate. I would've preferred to know right away. This shows unprofessionalism to me because other florists do not do that. I didn't get the feeling that they wanted my business because it was a quick consultation and they didn't really try to find out what I liked. Needless to say, first impression was not great and I won't go to this florist for my wedding flowers.
Pros: Convenient location
Cons: Service, everything
