Editorial Review for RiverPlace Hotel – by Otis Rubottom
The Scene
Located on a boardwalk surrounded by a number of shops, restaurants, art galleries and the RiverPlace Marina, you never really have to leave this hotel. In the summertime, the adjacent Waterfront Park hosts a number of festivals--an excellent way to spend your days. Active guests can jog, stroll or inline skate along the river or visit the on-site gym and Olympic-sized pool. The hotel is walking distance from downtown.
The Details
Whether it's business, leisure or romance, the knowledgeable and courteous staff at RiverPlace goes out of its way to accommodate guests. Large bathrooms, bouquets of fresh flowers, fluffy bathrobes and chocolates on the pillows are just some of the reasons people feel pampered at this European-influenced hotel. Condos, suites and guest rooms are available; many have views of the river. The hotel also has a restaurant and a private spa.

my husband and i went here for a night away from the kids and we're very happy with all the personal attention and service, everyone is so friendly and professional. our room was very nice, a great view of the river and a very comfortable king size bed! we had dinner in the hotels restaurant , the food was great, the setting was o.k., but the drinks from the bar were horrible! the woman at the front desk reccomended a few places nearby, and a map, so we walked a couple of blocks to Veritable Quandary for cocktails instead. in the morning we ordered room service which was promt and delicious! overall it was a really nice stay!!! we'd definately go again.....
Pros: service, nice rooms, great in town getaway
Cons: bar, no spa services

My wife and I stay at The Riverplace every couple of months. We have stayed there for conferences and for the location close to the Keller for Broadway Plays. This hotel is the most comfortable in Portland, and the service is second to none. All the staff are friendly and responsive to any requests. The most professional hotel person that I have ever encountered is Mellissa, who has been there for some time now. She is always there to welcome you with a smile and is always willing to make sure your stay is perfect, which to date, always is. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone, and we will continue to return.
Pros: Service, location, great bar.
Cons: None
