Best stylist in Portland. April Price has made my hair look fabulous. I have thin hair and it is difficult to maintain. With April's expert, creative styling and products my hair is shiny, has body, and is the best it has ever looked.
April is the Best. April is absolutely WONDERFUL and my hair has never looked better. i look forward to each and every cut as I know it's going to look great.
Bottom line: I have had only good hair cuts and color at Annastasia.
Personally, it's a little flashy for me and I can see how people might feel pressured to buy their expensive product lines. I would prefer a little bit more of a neighborhood/family feel (it's a bit upscale for funky, little Multnomah Village).
But they do a great job and I think it is ultimately worth the few extra bucks they charge!
ANANASTASIA HAIR DESIGN. I HAD HEARD OF THIS CUTE LITTLE SALON IN MULTONOMAH VILLAGE. I MADE AN APPOINTMENT WITH "MARIESA". WHEN I GOT THERE I WAS GREETED BY MY STYLIST HERSELF .WE HAD A GREAT CONSULTATION AND I RECEIVED THE BEST COLOR AND CUT I HAVE HAD IN A LONG TIME. I WILL BE A NEW LONGTIME CLIENT OF ANNASTASIA'S AND OF MARIESA'S. LB
Elise is the BEST!. Elise rocks. She is excellent with color and her cuts are bomb. I love going to Anastasia's. Everyone there is sweet and fun and I always walk away feeling great about my hair and my experience.
April is the best!. I could not disagree more with the reviewer who said April was pushy and that she had cancelled her last appointment with her. I have been going to April for almost two years now. She does such a fantastic job that I drive all the way down from Seattle every 5 weeks just to see her. She is so knowledgable and talented and my hair has never looked better. She recommends the products that will make your hair look and feel amazing. That is her job, that is what we pay her to do. She does not force it on you at all. If you're looking for a quick cut and don't care about the quality of the products used and the capabilities of the stylist, go to Great Clips for christ sakes. If you want super model hair and rock star treatment, April is your girl!
Too much sales pressure!. I just canceled what would have been my third appointment with April at Annastasia's. My first haircut there was great, but April is sales person-the whole time she talks about all the products you should buy. I mean maybe one or two-but I really don't need to buy the whole line! It's not that I don't expect a stylist to suggest the products they sell-this was just way too much! The second time it was more of the same with the intense product pushing BUT the haircut was not even close to as good as it was the first time I was there, I felt like she was to busy talking to listen to what I asked for. If I am paying $50+ for a haircut I want to love it and not dread being trapped in a chair for an hour for a sales pitch.
Fabulous!. After coming highly recommended from a friend, I made an appointment with Sandie for a cut and color and I couldn't have been more pleased with the results. Not only did I receive exceptional customer service and attention, I was comfortable, relaxed, and had a great time with the very personable staff. I have been to other salons before where I was made to feel inconsequential and the hair stylist barely spoke two words to me, this was a completely opposite experience. I wasn't reallly sure which direction I wanted to go with my color so I left it entirely in her hands and love the end results - not only with the color, but with the cut and style as well. Regarding the previous reviewer's experience with the scheduling errors, I can only say that if I did not receive a confirmation call prior to my appointment, I would assume that there was a scheduling issue since this is a common practice with salons. Regardless, I would highly recommend this place - I'm quite sure you will be very pleased with the experience.
Major Communication Problems.
I should have taken it as a sign when I didn't receive the confirmation call for my 2nd appt. here, but the time & date were written on the card that the clerk handed to me. Since it was nice out, I decided to walk there (about 25 min.), and arrived on time for my 1:00 appt.
They were busy, so it was about 5 mintutes before I spoke with the staff at the desk. When it was my turn I told them my name, my hairdresser's name, & the time of the appt. One of them told me that my hairdresser had not arrived yet, but should be there any minute, so I took a seat. A few minutes later the girl walked over to me and said that in fact they had me scheduled for a half hour later. I said okay (I was already there, and wasn't in a huge hurry, but I did have a number of other things to do that day). After another 10 minutes or so, a different girl walked up to me and informed me that there was a mistake. I had an appt. 3 weeks later! It was somebody else who had the 1:30 appt. They said I could return later that afternoon.
Ater waiting for nearly half an hour, I left without a haircut and walked home. I initially told them I would return for the later appt., but called and cancelled because I did not want to go back there that day after all that. They tried to schedule me for later in the week, but my hairdresser was not available on the day that worked for me. Frankly, I did not have a strong desire to return after my negative experience.
If they want me to return after what I experienced it will take some convincing. I like to give people a second chance (especially local businesses), but they have to be proactive about making me want to return!. They apologized, but I did not feel that they were particularly concerned about keeping my business. I don't know if this is typical of the establishment, but when your customer is dissatisfied and it's your fault, you should bend over backwards to make them happy. Needless to say, I plan to get my next haircut elsewhere.
Fantastic Salon. I had a terrible haircut from a Pearl District salon, and I should have gone to my regular stylist Steven at Annastasia. He saved me, however, and now I look fabulous, I can't believe he saved my hair and it didn't get cut as short as I thought it needed to be due to the choppy mess that was once my hair. Hats off to Steven, I'm loyal for life.
