Cake Shops Should Be Sweet. The chantilly cupcake should have been divine, but the sour taste in my mouth from the unfriendly staff killed the experience. There was too much icing on all 4 different items we ordered, which I'd never think I'd find myself complaining about. Even the 4 year olds left some behind on their plates.

The place looks cheery from the outside, but the service and surroundings quickly dampen any hopes for a sunny experience. I regret giving them my business and won't be back.

Unpleasant cake, unpleasant service and high prices. Very disappointing experience. Store looks shabby. Service was not helpful at all. Extremely limited selection of bake goods in case. Items we wanted were frozen (cookies and pies stored frozen and not available fresh). Vegan cupcakes were dry and had weird stringy bits in them. The cupcakes were mainly frosting and the frosting was too sweet. Sweet Pea has far better cupcakes, better service and better selection. It was a waste of our time and money.

Gluten Free Carrot Cake was Delicious!!!. My wife has a gluten allergy. I received a coupon for Piece of Cake and when we found out that they had Gluten Free Carrot Cake, she said we had to order that. So we got 1 9 inch double layer Carrot Cake. She had been craving Carrot Cake and it surpassed her expectations. It does not even taste gluten free! For anybody who can not eat gluten we highly recommend PIECE OF CAKE.

Irish oatmeal cake is addictive. I used to get the irish oatmeal cake from a restaurant in town, and when I was pregnant I would literally dream about this cake. Then I finally had to ask the restaurant where they got the cake, and it is well worth the trip to Sellwood for her yummy cakes.

Great cakes, even for those with dietary restrictions. This is fabulous place to get cakes. You can get Piece of Cake's creations at many restaurants or grocery stores around town (and I do) but why not go to the source (much more affordable)?

I highly recommend the Irish oatmeal and the vegan carrot . We always buy cakes from Marilyn for every birthday or other occasion and people in attendance always comment on how good the cakes are. People would never guess that they are vegan or nut-free or wheat-free or any of the other ways in which the various delicious cakes respect other's dietary needs. We've tried other places in town but always come back for events or holidays.

I noticed several negative reviews here and decided that I really had to post. I was just looking for the phone number and ran into this. I have to say that I think that these reviews are all from the same person. Sure the misspellings aren't consistent but the vibe is the same. I'll guess someone didn't get their ego stroked. I'll further guess that the negative reviews were all left by someone asked to leave the premises because they were drunk (or really obnoxious (or both)) and bothering the reasonable customers. Apparently being aggressive and dishonest makes some people feel better.

I'll bet you'll feel better if you just eat this cake.

Amazing cake. I got the Irish Oat cake for my Fiancé's birthday and it was really good! I was impressed with the appearance of the cake as well. The icing was a bit sweet, but the cake was very moist. When I picked up the cake, the lady who helped me was really nice. She made sure I was happy with the cake and chatted with me for a few minutes. The store itself is a bit messy, however I will definitely tell my friends about Piece of Cake.

Piece of Something. I took a bride there as they wanted a vegan cake. The place is not as cute as the picture above portrays, the lady you meet is plain old mean, she spends all of her time telling you what you can't have and how her cakes are better than any other shops, she is disorganized, is unable to find the pictures that she keeps talking about. The cake we had was not too bad but also not that good and definitely more expensive than any other shop we had looked at including Papa Hyden, which I thought was going to be pricey! When it came to signing the contract I told her we were going to see another shop the next day, she became rude, told me I was making a big mistake that they would not be as good and they would probably mess up the cake on delivery. I went with the other store!

Not as good as it claims to be. This place is not as warm and kitschy as it looks in that picture. With wedding cake albums and other things strewn covering every available surface, it is hard to find a place to put your cake. The cakes look and sound great but when you finally get to eat it, after the baker has stopped what she was doing tbehind the counter to serve you, the cake seems like it's been sitting in the fridge for two days. It is somewhat of a haven for vegans who otherwise don't have many dessert options, but I'd recommend getting a slice to go and warming it up in your microwave at home.

Piece of Cake.... PLEASE !!!!. This is the worst bakery in the Northwest, and it seems to be run by a madwoman. The place is filth ridden.

There is dirt everywhere. It smells of urine! The cakes are way overpriced. And they are dry and tasteless.

The woman who claims to be the owner looks and dresses like a bag lady. I think her name was Marilyn, She was dirty and looked as though she had not showered in days. She talked like she thought she was better than me, and wouldnt let me get a word in. I saw her more than once rub her snotty nose with her hand as she was handling food she was packaging. When I asked about catering details she was trying to make things up as we talked. She didnt know anything about quality catering. The countertops had food and crumbs all over them, and the workers just kept putting more food down on them, without cleaning anything up first. I watched for about ten minutes before I almost got sick! I will never recommend this dump to any of my friends. I think that she needs to be shut down, and should be reported to the health inspectors for the state. Nobody seemed to have hair nets, and I saw a long black and grey hair on a cake in the dirty glass case. The service was super slow on top of everything else. Dont waste your time! If I had known what a dump it was I would have never ordered the cake over the phone in the first place. Piece of Cake, more like Piece of _ _ _ _ !!!!

Do not support.. The cake, is okay. It is most important to me tho, the consumer, to support a company/ owner in which I feel is deservant of the business. The owner of this shop has been nothing but a flake, and a mess when it comes to doing business. I hate to say it, but this was my second, and LAST incounter with this shop. This women may be on some sort of substance, and in no way deserves my or any good beings business. Please do our world favor, and do not support this place, I have too many concerns to mention at this point.
