User Reviews for Q Is For Choir

5 Star Rating: Highly Recommended

I've found some really really great records at Q is for Choir that would cost many times more in other stores or online. It's not that they don't know what they've got; they've made a conscious decision to keep great music accessible to everyone - not just richie rich collectors. In addition to their almost overly fair pricing, the owner and workers are genuinely friendly and the atmosphere is welcoming and completely unpretentious. Their selection is relatively small, but it's quality is very high. Please support this local gem!

Pros: Dirt cheap prices on great records

Q is For Choir has free coffee and one of the most carefully curated selections of vinyl in Portland. No crate fillers-all bangers. The staff are knowledgeable and conversational. New owner Tim Wentzl (of local stalwart acts Schicky Gnarovitz and the Transparent Wings of Joy & Yes, Father) is a par golfer and frequently chips in at least twice a round, even in a downpour. It's evident natural talent with a touch of magic- like the way he runs this business. You could do a lot worse for your vinyl budget. Try it, you'll like it.
