Portland >Yukon Tavern
I was shocked at the terrible reviews of one of my most beloved dives in town! After scanning them, I realized that they mostly revolved around the service of one particular bartender.
I'm not sure if this guy is still employed by them, but I ALWAYS have a good time when I go to the Yukon. The drinks are cheap and strong, they have pool and shuffleboard, a decent jukebox and you can get a giant plate of tater tots for $3. What's not to love?!
horrible. bartender is obnoxious and rude, food is bland, and all the drinks are made with a large amount of bleach (except sundays; they have time to rinse it out then)
There goes the neighborhood ...
I like the Yukon Tavern,I go there regularly. Red Shag Carpet is so rad.$1.50pint of Pabst 2.00 bud bottle
I love their cheeseBurger and fry $4.00.The staff Is on their own, that takes some skill in multi-tasking.
In every Bar/Booz Joint there are unhappy people tring to be Happy .Thank you and I choose this place to be my kind of joint. Keep up the good work.
p.s.,, I love the chalk board in the boys room..
pst.. . Not the best place to be a Rebel Rouser. Pass it on.
pros: Cheap beer. Cons: Worst service I have have ever seen.. (Devyn). Met the bartender by the name of Eric and have nothing but good things to say about him. However, the barkeep known as Devon probably should not be tending bar. I watched him yell and curse at about 20 paying patrons who where trying to watch the vice presidential debate, (Keep in mind that these people were not drunk, they had just arrived at this neighborhood bar to watch the debate). I think everyone in the bar was shocked at his behaviour, it reminded me of an angry 5 year old whining and bitching. The people that he was insulting were paying customers, correct me if I'm wrong but isn't that who tips him at the end of the night? The owner of this establishment needs to consider the mental capacity of this guy, he appears to have a screw loose and can't handle the pressure of bartending. I won't go back to this place and I'm certain the other 20 people have similar feelings on the matter.
Worst bar next to anywhere in Jeruselam....or Bethlehem...or Dome of the Rock...possibly The Wailing Wall. I was at the yukon recently and discovered that it is an extremely anti-christian bar. The juke box was full of devil music and I even saw some patrons that were tatooed. I was absolutely appalled and outraged at the complete lack of recognition and consideration for our lord and savior Jesus Christ. I will never set foot in that heathen-ridden den of inequity ever again. Don't go there if you love God.
Good Place - Bad Bartender. The Yukon has all the prerequisites for a good dive bar, but the weekend bartender can be a bit rude and arrogant. Try to sit away from the server and you'll have a good time. The atmosphere has the potential to be really cool, but it's a bit brightly lit for my tastes. Aside from the jerk who works the bar, I'd be willing to hang out there on occasion....
