After trying to get good advice and service in one shop, I realized that I was doing the wrong thing researching bikes - what I needed to do was research bike shops. These guys are the only shop in town that, apart from the" bunch of jerks" review here (buy the tee shirt), had nobody moaning about them. I went in on a busy Saturday to talk about having them put a bike together for me based around a budget and a few rough ideas of what I wanted. I am no biker dude and only know roughly what I want to ride. Erik was totally cool and unassuming; made sure that I didn't need just something off the shelf, went through some options with me, explained a few things and was totally patient with my stupid questions. The shop was crazily busy and he had to break off and help people more than once. He obviously didn't want to leave them without help and every employee was busy. He managed to do this courteously, thanked me for my patience and made me feel like they were really happy to put a bike together for me. I saw them guide a couple through buying a good, simple, easy bike (they had no idea at all about bikes and I didn't see any snickering going on), and help one or two obvious biker dudes with the same willingness. I have few recommendations: 1) I think that the shop is madly busy on saturday (this is a good thing), so if you can, I would go in during the weekdays; 2) I don't think there is any worry about buying the cheapest or most expensive bike from these guys; 3) If you are like me and know roughly what you want, then rather than buy the Kona XYZ, or (as I was going to do until Bike gallery never got back to me) a Lemond Poprad, or whatever, take that as a frame of reference and talk to them about making you a bike in that budget range. They seem really pleased to get to do that, and you get a better bike for your needs at no extra outlay in the end. I had never been in to this shop before today by the way, I am a new customer.

Pros: Know their stuff, flexible, cool "what a bunch of jerks" tee shirts, polite

Cons: Smaller friendly shop means busy on Saturday, not really a con, but go in the week if you can

Yeah, I've visited this place before, good experience every time. I like the joint as I believe the blokes love bikes in general. You don't have to love me but you do have to love my Huffy texas steer banana seat saddled tasseld gripped steed. If you want to be fancy and buy new clothes for your once a year ride in the shuttle vehicle but you look cool, this is not the place to go as they will sell you a "What a Bunch of Jerks" shirt. Sometimes the smell of B.O. eminates from the pores in the walls but this is tolerable. By the way, the old man behind the counter is actually really smart and not a bad guy, be aware of the mold spores on him. Still drive 35 miles to see you guys and have you lust over my bike. I trust you and thanks for being who you are!

Pros: Service, Child Friendly

Cons: none
