Great! but NOT FOR EVERYONE. I've been to Rocky Horror a couple times and Repo once. Even had my 18th birthday party there a couple years ago. It's a fun night out doing some crazy stuff that's a blast if you get into it. It's an ACTICE movie where you become involved in the show.

But be warned: it is NOT your typical moviegoing experience. You might want to watch Rocky or Repo on DVD before seeing it there so you know what's going on.

Pros: Unique Portland Tradition, Zany fun

Cons: Not for the easily offended

PS to all the people saying it's so gross and humilating... my dad told me stories of what they did back in the 80's and early 90's. The stuff now is nothing compared to what it was back then.

By Stander. I've been there a few times, and I can't say that the most recent time I enjoyed it, but it was a bad day for them. I have to warn people, it is place to go only if you have seen the movies before hand and are going for the experience(at least for Repo or Rocky Horror, I can't say for other movies).

The experiance is a crew of people dressed up, yelling, singing, making jokes at the screen, and including the audiance. Which when well done, and you are expecting it, can be great fun.

Look before you go!. If you are going to the Clinton Street Theather, look at what you're seeing before you leap. This person below me obviously did not go to the website or do any searching. He didn't seem to notice that Repo! The Genetic Opera was not playing at any other theaters.

I've been going to Repo! The Genetic Opera at the Clinton Street Theater every friday for the past 3 months, and I absolutely adore it. The actors are friendly and funny. If you want to have a good time, and there's not a stick up your ass, go to Repo! at the Clinton Street Theater.

Warning: Yes, there is yelling, screaming, comments, and insuing hilarity. But if you want it quiet, rent it on netflix people.

Repo! Worst experience of my life.. It was horrible. My date and I sat down and immediately realized we had come to the wrong place. We had met another couple in line who had never been to the Clinton St. Theater, they were easy to spot as they weren't 90 lb's overweight covered in makeup with dyed hair, all four of us left with the same angry disgusted expression after realizing we'd wasted $16 and an evening at this foul hole in the wall.

Consider it like trying to watch a film surrounded by 7 yearolds screaming out stupid comments/advice to the characters. To get an idea what I'm talking about find a couple particularly low brow Youtube videos, get someone with a really obnoxious voice to yell out all the inane comments everyone posts directly behind your head, while you are trying to enjoy a movie. That's what this is like. There was one woman in our showing who managed to yell out something completely mind numbing after every sentence in the movie. I couldn't even enjoy the film, or the half-assed acting. It was really more three-quarter assed acting because that's how much of the pale flabby posteriors the actors wobble around the stage displaying.

The absolute worst part about this experience besides not being able to see the movie at all, enjoy the music of a rock opera at all, having to listen to horrendous pork beasts bellowing all night, was the lack of clothes on the aesthetically challenged actors. This venue is like a retreat for morbidly obese alternakids to run around naked/perform lapdances (this actually happened as part of the "performance") on stage.

I left feeling nauseated, embarrassed that I'd brought my date there, and tense. Very tense, this was the kind of place where I was constantly on edge because everyone around me was acting in a way that causes me to grind my teeth in annoyance.

Honestly a waste of a perfectly good evening. BEWARE I hear the Rocky Horror Picture Show is even worse.
