service is inept.
The service was terrible, hence the lower level of clientele matching the staff.
The bartenders act like dogs in heat (embarrassing) , the wait staff is slow to not even showing up.
There are better places, much better places.
the best ever!.
this is by far the best restaurant in Portland in my opinion
i have never been disappointed. i would recommend this place to every one i know.
Clubby corporate restaurant draws seafood lovers with fresh daily catches and posh atmosphere..
In Short
Upscale and sophisticated, this chain features art deco-inspired trappings such as dark wood, shiny brass and beveled glass. Servers clad in black and white weave through cocktailing couples and businessmen at the bar. The classic American, seasonally inspired seafood menu changes daily; specialties include starters of Dungeness crab cakes and oysters on the half shell, plus entrees like cedar plank-roasted salmon, sauteed lobster with scallops and rock shrimp, and seared yellowfin tuna with wasabi, soy and ginger.
Great for a Birthday Date. My sweetie, her Brother & I went on Wednesday for her birthday. It was their 1st time & my 3rd. She had a craving for steak & shrimp & they did an amazing job. We both got the filet mignon. She had hers with coconut shrimp, mine was scampi. Both were amazing! The brother had fish & chips which were also quite tasty. For desert there was creme brulee & key lime pie. All yummy, though the creme brulee could use more refining. Our waiter was great & we will be back again!
SKIPPERS SEAFOOD IS BETTER AT LEAST THEY SEARVE HAILIBUT. ORDERED HALIBUT , GOT WHAT LOOKED LIKE MICRO WAVE SHARK STEAK, WAITED FOR WAITERESS TO ASK IF EVER THING WAS OK. NEVER DID. NOW i remeber why I HAVE NOT EATEN HERE IN TEN YEARS, NEVER AGAIN . TO MANY GOOD RESTURANTS IN THE AREA TO EAT AT ANY OF THESE CHAINS AGAIN
Amazing Risotto Best Service. I must say I was impressed from the start. I had not been to this McCormick & Schmick's in a very long time. It was amazing. The staff were very attentive and seemed like they loved to be there. On top of the great service the food was amazing. We started with a wild mushroom risotto that was recommended by the server. I can easily say it was the best I had ever had.. The rest of our meal was great as well. We will be going back very soon and often! It was also nice that they had free parking, a big plus when going downtown. My husband loved their huge selection of Scotch.
mushy shrimp with the head on. Ordered a medley of seafood over pasta....the shrimp came with the head on (okay, maybe that's my issue but I don't expect my shrimp to be looking at me). They took it back to cut the head off but may as well have just taken the shrimp out of the mix because what they brought back was a mass of mush with a tail. Once removed, the rest of the meal was actually good but shrimp should not be hard to do for a seafood restaurant!
Is this some kind of a joke??. I went there with my mother & sister in laws, and husband. I don't like seafood, so I just ordered a caesar salad. Wow, it was like $8 or $9, and the size of a side salad at Burgerville. It TASTED like burnt oil. Everything, the dressing, the croutons, the cheese. It was ridiculous. I think the others thought their food was OK, but if you can't do a caesar salad right, you're pretty sad.
Consistent high service. Great food and service for a recent business dinner. The only downside I can think of can be parking if adjacent lots are full. Price is reasonable for the quality.
excellent food!. Everything I've eaten at this restaurant has been delicious. Nice presentation, good service. This place has become one of my Portland favorites.
