Embassy Suites Downtown Portland Sucks.
This hotel is horrible. The General Manager, Steve Young threatened employees that wanted to join the union, would get fired a few years
back. I have the letter he sent out and will be posting it soon.
Jennifer in banquets is a bitch. My groups will never book a function with her or Patty again.

make it an ideal hotel for conferences, special events and weddings. Guests may also attend a nightly reception with beverages.

Great ambience and service. A loyal Hilton customer & frequent traveler; stayed at many full & limited service hotels. This E.S. is the nicest ever. Not your typical Embassy. The pool, fitness area, and breakfast areas are all tucked away in other spacious areas of the hotel. Elegant, welcoming, peaceful lobby. THIS E.S. is vintage, classy, upscale, and the service is top-notch. Great desk staff, friendly housekeepers & service staff at the breakfast & manager's reception. The complimentary breakfast is over the top...great selection, fresh & hot foods, great presentation. Exceptional value. Restaurant off the lobby isn't very kid friendly, but attentive staff and very good food. The Salon/Spa is right off the lobby and has great services, too. Definitely a must-stay! Awesome!. stayed for 4 days, they were very pleasant, accomdating as we were out of towners. They gave great maps, so helpful on how to get around downtown portland. And very nice and accomdating to us, as we are deaf. Every employee made sure we were taken care of. The breakfast was amazing! every morning! lots of choices, and delicious! Our little kid couldnt eat much breakfast as they have this beautiful water fountain in the middle of the cafteria. The kitchen in the room was wonderful, especially when you have a child, having a refegeriator is extremely helpful. the resturant in the hotel, is very not family friendly, as I had to bring my own crayons they did not have childrens menu. The staff were a bit snotty. but food was soo delicious! This hotel was beyond my expectations, defintely will stay next time! View Less … View More
Love this place. I have been traveling to Portand for a little over three years now for business. I started out at the Marriot, switched to the Benson, then Embassy Suites was suggested to me by a colleague. I have been coming to this hotel for just about two years, and look forward to seeing their welcoming faces, everytime I visit Portland this is the place for me. This hotel is great because they offer the most for a great price. Their complimentary happy hour and full breakfast buffet is the best around, and they also provide a courtesy shuttle for guests all over downtown which is something not found at any other hotels. This is the place to go to see hospitality at its best. View Less … View More
