Great time....

I have been to Up Front a few times in the past and wasn't swayed either way. I went back for the first time in a while with some of my friends and we were pleasantly surprised.

We were all meeting there as a place to start and then were going to move to different clubs/bars. When we got there we were faced with a cover, but only $5 for two of us (apparently they do 2 for 1 for girls until 11pm). This was different, I had never paid a cover before, so I asked the people at the front door why, and they said that it was because the bar had gotten a DJ in. We decided to give it a go.

When we got in we were surprised to see the place was pretty full. The pool tables were all being used and there were many people just mingling. We picked up a table and waited for our friends to show up. While were sitting there the bartender actually came out from behind the bar and asked us what we wanted. Can you say great service!!!

While we waited for our friends to show, we were entertained by the great DJ they had. Not only was the music great but it wasn’t too loud or trying too hard. (You all know what I’m talking about, the horrible scratching and even worse techno blowing out your eardrums.) Over all we ended up spending most of our evening there enjoying the music and atmosphere. It wasn’t trying to be anything it wasn’t. It was kind of nice not to be bombarded with tiny little club brats who were barely dress (although they were next door at FX)

Overall, Up Front has seems to really be coming alive again. Good drinks, good people and great music. You can’t go wrong!!!

When we were leaving I asked this guy who I think was the owner or manager or something if the DJ was a regular thing and he said every Saturday in May. I think they should keep him on for longer.

• Pros: the music, the atmosphere....pretty much everything
• Cons: a little dated, but who really cares when you're having fun!

great place!

This place is great! it has pool tables, a bar and a place to dance. It seems like their trying to get more people in there like there used to be. The DJ is awesome. he plays every kind of music it seems like. Check this place out and start coming here! its an AWESOME place to go and hang out!!!!!!!!1

• Pros: great drinks, good people, awesome dj
• Cons: nobody's there!!!!

Phenomenal DJ eclipses any flaws in this poppin' joint

This club is POPPIN'! Sure, the drink prices are a bit steep, & I could do without the excessive charges for EVERY visit to the coat/property check room, but once you hear the DJ playing the jams, everything else becomes invisible! Good dance music is good dance music. What makes THIS place special is the DJ! He brings the music to life, and brings the club to life! Where did they find this dude? It's a rare treat in ANY city to walk into a club and hear a good DJ, let alone one THIS good! At times I found myself just standing still, totally amazed at the skills of this DJ. This is what ALL DJs should aspire to be. No arrogance evident at all, just brilliant mixes, great music selection, &, as I mentioned earlier, HE MAKES IT ALL COME TO LIFE! SEVEN STARS, baby!
