While a premier venue for major bands touring through the area, Dante's also hosts cabaret acts, live band karaoke and comedy shows. Given the popularity of the venue and the booked acts, expect high volumes of people and long lines at the bar. If you stand in the audience looking thirsty with an empty drink, cocktail waitresses will come by to address your alcohol-related needs.

Patrons spend as much time on their coiffed hair and leather as they spend watching a show because, why the hell not?
Good bar, bad pizza.... I have enjoyed many good bands at this bar, "Karaoke from hell" is fun too. Drinks were okay, the pizza really sucked! I will still go there again next time band I like plays there. Eat somewhere else first before you go. Also be sure to bring some earplugs, their soundguy is deaf as a post.
Sinferno - its HOT!. This place is amazing! Sunday night Sinferno - I don't care who you are, stop by with an open mind and you'll have a great time. Great music, food, entertainment, prices - seriously, if you live in Portland and you value taking advantage of unique aspects of the city, go there.
Great Atmosphere. Sinferno on Sunday's is the BEST show in town. BEST! Check it out once. You gotta see it! Great service! EXCELLENT pizza. Fun crowd. Mature. Not your average Portland nob's hang out. Cool place. Go. Enjoy. Listen to music.
Good place to dance. This place is great to go to dance but it gets crowded. The drinks are kind of expensive though. I would reccomend for a girls night out.
Dante's was a great place.... Dante's was a cool place to see some live music. I even came back and performed at the open mic and met a lot of great local comics. I read someone's review below that said the bartenders were rude...that's probably because they were acting like a retard. The staff that I met were some of the coolest and friendliest people I met in three weeks out on the west coast. To each his own, I guess. Anyway, if you are in the area, love local music and being in a cool place and meeting new people, then check out Dante's...if you are an uppity person who feels you are better than people, fall down a mine shaft.
The most beautiful women and the funnest crowd.. This is a super-fun place to see shows. The people are beautiful and the drinks are good. True, the bartenders are busy but I haven't found one to be rude to me or my friends. I love Sunday nights, the best.
Rip off. This place is lame. Don't waste your time or money going here. You will not be able to sit down anywhere and the place is like a frat house.
Deliciously dark and seductive, this downtown hot spot has set Portland's bar scene on fire..
In Short
An ever-present oil-drum inferno combines with an impressive musical lineup and a diverse crowd to make this bar sizzling hot. A dizzying array of performers take to the red velvet-curtained stage each week, including wannabe Britneys for Karaoke from Hell (Monday) and exotic dancers and DJs for Sinferno night (Sunday). Thursdays are popular, with an ever-changing rotation of performers.
Pizza.
Awesome Pizza, on the cheap. Live music ranges from absolutely amazing to what the heck are they thinking (Steven Segal Blue Band, for instance). Eclectic, diverse crowds who have lots of fun. Only negatives might be the homeless spare changing in/around the club and sometimes (every weekend perhaps) the place is packed.
Highly Reccomended!
Gotta stop by.... I am from Boulder, CO and the first time I adventured to Dante's was by pure accident...Now when ever I am in town I never pass up the chance to stop by on Monday nights for Karaoke from hell...This is by far the best Karoke I've ever been too - the people are authentic, the band rocks, alternative/hip crowd and the atmosphere is just plain cool...I highly recommend checkin it out!
