KIMBERLEY APTS. HAS DRUG DEALERS. This complex is the one that Norris & Stevens cares the least about. The on-site management must be powerless. All she does is place notices on doors about parking in the guest spots. An still she is ignored. The same tenants that own several cars take up the guest spots and their own. She does nothing. tenants allow their friends to come in the complex and use the laundry facilities. You have families of 8+ in 2bedrooms apts. Children play in the parking lot area running in & out and between cars. This is not the place for children to play. Yet, nothing has improved. Norris & Stevens need to screen the tenants better.

Proud of Norris and Stevens. Proudly, I am an On Site manager for Norris and Stevens; when I read these reviews I was completely shocked. Norris and Stevens from my vantage point is a good and fair company, that always holds true to the laws that govern it .There will always be a resident,or in most cases an ex resident that feels he or she has been mistreated; in a company that manages many apartment communities, with hundreds of residents, to hear of only a few disgruntled people is a good thing. Norris and Stevens is in the business to recruit good managers to manage professionally ( which is where the relationship with happy residents is created). If you are lucky enough to be living in an apartment community where Norris and Stevens is taking over as the Property management company, in short time you will see the positive benefits of their management team working for you.

Shorewood Terrace Apartments. I've been working for Norris & Stevens for almost three years now and I've never seen a more professional management company, so I have to take all these rabid reviews with a serious grain of salt. I don't believe any of their asset managers would put up with anything close to the levels of incompetence described here. But don't take my word for it, come check out the complex I manage - the Shorewood Terrace Apartment community in Downtown Milwaukie. Pardon the shameless plug but it's true - our complex is beautifully landscaped, clean, family-friendly, has reasonable rental rates and situated right next to schools, shopping and easily accessible public transportation. Check us out at shorewoodterrace dot com or give us a call at 503-653-3528.

DO NOT RENT FROM THEM!!. When I originally moved into our apartment the onsite management was friendly. I filled out a form stating what was wrong with the apartment and they were in the next day to repair everything.

Everything was going well until they brought in new management. My first meeting with the new manager was very inappropriate. I was in the shower and had my music on with the windows open. This woman banged on my door for 10 minutes until I came down naked and when I answered the door she just said "turn down the music" .... keep in mind, I have no idea who this woman is.

Next, she gave me a violation for having my dogs off their leash in the common area. Normally this wouldn't be a huge deal BUT our pets were in the specific "dog run" area as well as another dog, without it's owner present, whom did not recieve a violation.

Not to mention that during the summer months the manager will stand outside my front window for up to 45 minutes watering a garden that is the size of a 1/2 bathroom. She then proceeded to plant several plants outside our door and knocked on my door and told me that she was going out of town and I needed to water the plants on a regular basis from here on out.....

If I wanted to water plants, I would have planted them....

Since I have been there she has called me a "rude little snot", stopped my friends from leaving my apartment and asking them who they are visiting why (which is none of her business) and has been severely injust.

When I went to talk to her about moving out she simply said "I don't expect a 30 day notice from you, I expect to never have to see your face after your lease is up"

Really? How rude and unprofessional. I understand I am younger but she has had it out for us since she arrived. She changed several policies since that we had originally rented the apartment under. I am trying to move now and they are refusing to release my rental information so that my application elsewhere is just sititng in limbo.

I have lived on my own for several years and have never had such a horrible experience.

It Feels like I am finally Home!!. I get so tired of hearing how bad some place is. Did you ever think that most of these people are probably the ones that were asked or forced to leave? Wake up!! If you cause problems and/or don't pay your rent, what do you expect!?! I have been in an apartment with Norris & Stevens for almost 6 months, I love it! the people are great and the rules are enforced. I come home to relax and get away from the world....this is the first time I have lived somewhere that this is true for not only me but also my neighbors.

I HIGHLY RECOMMEND LIVING HERE!!

Do not rent from Norris & Stevens. The management is incompetent, rude, and unhelpful. It was a hassle is get anything fixed in the apartment. I was told my doors would be fixed before I moved in and they never were. When I had electrical problems, they were not fixed until I called every single day to complain.

On top of the worst renting experience I have ever had, both my and my roommates name was spelled wrong on the security deposit check. I moved out over 4 months ago and have yet to get a valid check. Management has only made excuses and not returned my phone calls.

Unfair and illegal business practices. Avoid Norris & Steven. We rented at the Norris & Stevens property called Creekside Commons in Tigard Oregon. The appearance itself is what it is, but the on-site manager (Emily Strength) was terrible (unprofessional and clueless), and the management company itself engages in unfair business practices. Their standard policy is to charge residents $165 in cleaning fees upon checkout REGARDLESS of the apartment's condition. Our apartment was spotless and there were no damages at all when we moved out. We were charged $165 nonetheless. After countless phone calls and letters to the Norris & Stevens management company, they finally refunded $110 of what they took, but the remaining $55 was lost. This is illegal, but nobody sues for $55. We cut the loss, but other potential tenets should beware.

Do not rent from Norris and Stevens at Laurelwood Apartments. Do not rent from Norris and Stevens. I began renting a year ago and when I moved in it was ok but as soon as management changed over everything turned to shit. I was told that I would have to pay a 400 dollar pet deposit one week and then told 3 days later that they would need 800 dollars for pet deposit for my dog. After yelling at management I went to find another place. I was only given a week before they decided to evict me since I would not give them the outrageous pet deposit. Rent increased twice in a year and no maintenance was done in the year I lived there. I had mold growing on my windows do to condensation and hardly any insulation in apartments which resulted in 300 dollar electric bill. My suggestion is to stay clear of Norris and Stevens unless you want them entering your apartment and want them to screw you over.

Very poor business model. I found it very interesting to go through this company for a temporary rental. All seemed well... we checked out, received notification from the manager the place looked fine, etc. Rather than get a security deposit in the mail, we received a bill for twice our deposit. It was like we paid for 4 months instead of 2. Still working with Norris and Stevens to find if they made a mistake, so we'll see if they figure things out. For now, I consider it a very poor business model to rely upon excessive fees in order to make profit. Hopefully it is the case that they made a simple mistake.
