Hotel Monaco Portland, a Kimpton

Great stay in downtown. I have not stayed in downtown Portland before, but was looking for somewhere to stay for my honeymoon. Ended up getting a great deal on one of those discount sites and then when we showed up after our wedding ceremony and reception, all dolled up of course, they upgraded our room to a suite. A very pleasurable stay even if we were only there for one night. They also have bikes to check out but I think they only have two. I liked the fact you could bring your pet. Hung out in the morning in the sitting area with our coffee. Loved the fish in our room. Bedding was great and it was quiet, no street noise. Great animal print robes, fabulous giant bathroom. Service was great and they quickly brought us some forks to eat our wedding leftovers and they had already displayed the bottle of champagne that my new inlaws had gifted us. Overall great stay, no complaints. I would definitely stay there again.…

Most Pleasant Hotel Stay. I've stayed at 5 star hotels all over the world and my experience at Hotel Monaco was phenomenal. Never have I had such a pleasant stay. Monaco is very pet friendly and does not charge any fees for pets, so hard to come by. All the staff were so sincere and genuine I truly felt that they wanted to be there. Not to mention helpful and easy to talk to. The atmosphere in this hotel is upscale but very comfortable. I felt like I was visiting a friends chateau. Extra Impressive reception! Quick, pleasant check as well as a smile every time I left or entered. Hotel Monaco can be assured of my business for many years to come. Keep up the AMAZING work!…

Romance, romance, romance!. My husband and I stayed here for the 2nd time last weekend. We ordered the "romance" package and it was worth it. Sparkling wine, rose petals, late check out, breakfast "in bed," free valet parking. We had the larger King Size Suite which was perfect. Prior, we have stayed in a Grand Suite which is very special - just right for a wedding night!

Unfortunately, this stay, the neighbors next door were very loud (sounded like young women partying - this is 1:30 am). We called the front desk and they really didn't do much except try to reach them by phone - and they wouldn't answer. Oh, well.

But, we were still able to lounge in bed until 1 pm which was a special treat. This is a great hotel and we'll be back.…
