What a great place. I've been to a lot of salon's and salon nyla is the best- so friendly and they bent over backward to make sure I was comfortable. I had the best massage and facial ever.
Get new receptionists!. All I wanted was to get waxed and they were completely booked for over a week. The receptionist kept me on the phone for 15 mins and kept changing days and time when they could fit me in....I ended without an appointment but being put on the waitlist. Too bad the receptionist hung up before she could take my number. Does a waitlist even exist? Pls get other receptionists!!
We love Yuki!. My cousins and I have all been getting our hair done by Yuki since she's been at Salon Nyla. I had my hair done by someone else once at Salon Nyla and it wasn't the same. Yuki even did my cousins hair for her wedding and she looked fabulous! I HIGHLY recommend her! She does such a great job that our hair looks good even while it's growing out. The only negative thing I have to say about Salon Nyla is that the receptionists are sometimes unaware of customers standing in the waiting area and talk about their private lives. They have also been really rude on the phone.
The most relaxing time ever. I am in love with this place. The staff there worked wonders and were so friendly and open. The whole time I was there I was being pampered and catered to. I absolutely loved my massage and facial -- so very relaxing. My skin feels terrific! And then I got a pedicure that was out of this world -- my feet are so smooth and the massage was great. To top it all off, they gave me even more massaging during my shampoo. I left feeling more relaxed than I have in years. I can't recommend this enough. Everyone needs to unwind like this!
very relaxing. I was pleased with my experience. The smell was so relaxing I'll remember it for a long time. The staff was friendly and down-to-earth. I had a very pleasant visit. And my hair looks terrific!
Curly hair upset. I went to Nyla salon expecting it to be great after a thorough discussion on the phone with the receptionist. I explained that I have difficult hair and I need somebody who knows how to style and cut curly hair. She assured me that the owner is excellent. I went ahead and scheduled an appointmnet thinking that the owner must know curly hair. I was wrong. The owner had no idea how to cut or style it. I was told to go on the street with big frizz on my head. I ended up styling my own hair and paying 50 bucks for it. Upsetting and not very pleasant. If I saw my customers doing my job because I can't do it, I wouldn't have charged them for it. I was very dissatisfied.
Birthday Blues. I was so excited to come here and celebrate my 30th birthday w/ 3 girlfriends, wine and champagne. Unfortunately, it was the worst part of my day; the salon lost our reservation despite our calling and confirming earlier that week. After sitting in the waiting area for nearly 20 minutes and being ignored, they finally told us they did not have us in their books and there was nothing they could do. No apologies, no attempt at working us in somehow, no explanation for the mistake. We were treated as invisible and an inconvenience. What should have been a fun milestone day turned into a huge disappointment and no one at the slaon seemed to care less that 4 people's busy schedules ended up being a wasted afternoon for us all. This place is horrible and heartless and I would never return or recommend this place to anyone.
Pedicure?! Save your money!. The basic "aromatherapy" pedicure is WAY overpriced and NOT an aromatherapy experience. Do not pay $55 for a $20 pedicure.
Do not bring your wedding party here!. I couldn't agree more with the poster below. Had a trial hair and makeup session that were fine. Day of wedding, they were running behind, rushed through everything. My makeup was so terrible that I had to rush back to the hotel and re-do it myself. When I went to pay, they hadn't tallied up the bill (the receptionist was standing around talking) and had to wait a long time. I arrived at the wedding site much later than I had hoped because of this. What should have been a relaxing prelude to my wedding ended up being incredibly stressful.
I'm coming back....
I had a chance to get a haircut and manicure last month and I wanted to say a few words about the salon. The people were very courteous and professional. My haircut was great and it came with a free (amazing) scalp massage. The woman was named Sing I think. Anyway, I highly recommend this place - the manicure was also done by Sing and was perfect. This place is a find - it is located in the Embassy Hotel (where I was staying - I didn't even know about the salon)
Good job....
