What People Are Saying About Tribute's

In Short – Northwest denizens in the know line up day and night for the thrifty pizza-by-the-slice selections and the hefty East Coast-style sandwiches. Vintage photos of New York, a TV tuned to ESPN and hunky staff give this popular spot a friendly, neighborhood-deli feel. Pizzas come in two styles--the classic, floppy thin-crust variety and the carb-heavy, thick-crust Sicilian style are both best with the fennel-laced sausage and pepperoni combo.
Philly vs Portland

I'm writing this from Philly although I'll be returning to Portland in a couple weeks, I'm in the process of making the jump from east to west. Portland is awesome! Fortunately, my buddies introduced me to Tribute's at the getgo, which was last summer.
I've been giving this a lot of thought, as I've been re-sampling the various cheesesteaks here in Philadelphia and finding fault with (amazingly) all. In my opinion, Tribute's has the cheesesteak I'm looking for and I'm very much looking forward to getting back to Portland. Tribute's has my vote!
- Pros: Interesting layout, great food
- Cons: Pretty far from Philadelphia..

Favorite sandwich in town

I've been a fan of the Tributes meatball wedge for many years. I call it in, & swing by a few minutes later to pick it up & it's almost always waiting for me. The meatball wedge ($7.95) is a delicious favorite of mine-- filled with sliced italian sausage (i think) meatballs, covered in mozzerella and a delicious red sauce. The bread is that kind which is soft on the inside & crusty on the outside, like good italian bread should be. Usually half the sandwich fills me up, so the other half can be thrown in the fridge for another meal.
Lately I've tried a couple different sandwiches: the Italian sub & the cheesteak. Neither of them disappointed. I'm not a huge fan of their pizza, but the slices are generous sized & loaded with cheese.
The service is always friendly and quick. I love this place!
- Pros: everything except parking
- Cons: parking (so ride a bike!)
