Little Shop of Horror's... Run - run fast and run far!!

Shopping at Jane's was without question the absolute WORST shopping experience of my entire life - made worse by their offensive and probably illegal business practices of refusing to honor purchase prices, and only offering store credit at half the purchase price on returns, despite receipt and the fact that they have a very limited supply of products, most of which are, well, at the very least, not worth the $400+ price tag....

It is, after all - underwear - so if you're not paying for a good experience; quality & fit, neither of which is very good or guaranteed, then what exactly are we paying for?!?

In my experience, I was repeatedly mistreated & offended throughout the shopping experience and could not wait to get out of there... I ended up giving away a very generous gift certificate valued at hundred's of dollar's b/c I simply could not bear the stress of returning to this "little shop of horror's"

Last, when questioned about their less than ethical business practices & return policy, the response is always the same - "We're a small business..." Given the way you treat customers, and your draconian business practices, probably not for long...

Lovely lingerie & wonderful service!. I have bought lingerie sets at Jane's for years now and have never had a bad experience. Buying underwear can be difficult because I want something that's flattering under clothes AND when just worn alone, and I need my bras to be durable too because I refuse to wear ugly underwear even when I know no one will ever see it. The sets I've bought at Jane's have all lasted me for years because they're so well made, and like I said I wear them all the time. Yes, they're not cheap, but because I wear them so much they are sooooo worth it. And I always look and feel beautiful and sexy in them!

The ladies who work there are great at finding something that looks good on me. I am curvy - some of it in the right places and some of it not - and they deftly steer me toward lines and styles that flatter my figure. I have been on the fence about a set before and the woman helping me suggested something else that was better for my shape. She's the one that got me into a 34D when I used to think I was a 36C - so much better!

And the lingerie! Lace and silk in these incredible designs and colors! And they've got everything from basic to frisky!

I love going to Jane's and I'm always excited when they let me know there are new styles that they think I'd like in. I always have fun when I go in to see them and I usually leave with something that's perfect for me!

Take the plunge!. I work downtown, so had walked past this business daily for months before I finally decided to go in. The woman who was working was really friendly, told me all about the different brands and was obviously very passionate about the lingerie! When I almost had a heart attack over the prices, she patiently explained why it costs so much more (silks, imported laces, and no huge factory production ) before telling me that they happily did layaways. Seriously?! I immediately put a plunge bra set on layaway (1/3rd down & the rest due within 30-days is FAR less painful - stretch the purchase between 2 paychecks!)

Every time I wear my new set, I feel like a princess. A princess in Italian silk. Mmm.

If I could, I would shop here for my everyday lingerie. As it is, it's great to know there's a shop such a passion for beautiful undies that will go out of their way to make such beautiful things accessible to me! I will definitely be going back for more!

What a gem!. My husband and I were walking downtown on New Year's Day, when we spied the most amazing lingerie display in a window. Not even thinking that they might be closed, we tried the door, and sure enough, it was locked. However, Jane was working inside, and quickly came and opened the door. She helped pull pieces that she thought I would like or would fit me well, and to be honest, I was hooked!

I am a lingerie-aholic, and Jane's Vanity is the perfect place to feed my addiction. The service, the exquisite silk and lace detailing on the designs, and the fact that it is not the cookie cutter selection that is found in every mall. Sigh. Now if only I lived closer...

I'm a lucky man.. My wife loves lingerie. She's shopped everywhere - locally, online, and on every trip to a new city - and spends a good amount of each paycheck on lacy sets & thigh-high stockings.

Jane's Vanity is our favorite local haunt. It's expensive, yes, but there are many worse expensive habits to have & the quality more than makes up for it. The sales staff is honest, discerning & happy to call when they get pieces in they think my wife might like.

She gets all excited about the brands, the materials, and the luxe details... I get excited to see her lingerie that fits & flatters perfectly.

Win-Win.

poor return policy. i went to check their little bra company products. but it turned out that they only had one even though online Jane's is one of them who carry little bra company products. things are very spendy. I bought one bra. hope it's good quality. but I don't like their strict return policy. you can't get a refund, only store credits.

Horrendous Business Practices. Do not order anything in this business with a credit card. Your card will be charged without your permission and without you receiving the merchandise. Orders can be promised in 30-60 days and then take 90-120 days. If you don't want the merchandise because it has arrived after you needed it--too bad-you are billed anyway.

The only place in town for real corsets. Jane gave me really personalized attention when I came in to be measured for my first real corset. Real corsets aren't sold by Victoria's Secret or Frederick's of Hollywood or even, I learned, Oh Baby! The real, boned, hook-eye in the front, posture improving, made to measure, slimming, made in Scotland deal is only available in Portland from Jane's Vanity. She helped me try on sample sizes. I gave up modesty as she worried over corseting and cleavage and slimming and going up a size and down a size. I left with an order placed for a beautiful corset and, as a person who struggles with slouching and poor posture, being infaatuated with the idea of corsets. While waiting for it to be made, I've managed to buy two more (much simpler ones, but still)! Jane was absolutely wonderful and knowledgeable about both the aesthetic and physical benefits of corset wearing, even though I really cared more about the latter.

Disappointed. Disappointing experience and poor service. Go to Nordstrom's for a more uplifting shopping adventure.
