You don't need to be under the influence of illicit substances to be standing outside this downtown shoe shop looking dazed and out of it, I get that expression every time I behold their dazzling rows of Jeffrey Campbell pumps and Frye boots through the huge floor to ceiling windows.

I love my Frye's boots and this is an excellent shop to touch, smell and try on a new pair! Check out their small sale room too for that unexpected find.
BEST SHOE STORE EVER!!!!!!!!!. They are the best there is, always new and always cool stuff and the service is great. If you haven't been you NEED to go!

In Short
Beautiful things (and the people to match) wait inside this starkly furnished, bi-level department store. Massive windows along SW Ninth and Alder showcase half the shop's inentory, which includes both shoes and clothing. The shop's two floors are evidence of Johnny's split personality: Shop the lower level for the latest and greatest in high fashion for feet, including many imported Spanish and Italian brands, while Upstairs is now home to clothing and accessories.
Great Store. I love this place, mostly the architecture, it's fun and has two floors, you can always get a dressing room. I've never bought shoes there, they don't seem sexy glam enough for me, more directed towards Portland-weird and functional. Which is fine, this is PDX after all. The people upstairs are always so nice. Tons of styles to choose from. Feels like big city boutique!
Big City Style for Portland. I'm a guy who loves shoes. Johnny Sole is the only place to go. Two floors (!!!) of shoes for men and women. Italian. Spanish. Pointy. Square. Boots. Loafers. Camper. Destroy. Kenneth Cole. The lists and descriptions could go on and on! Prices usually range in the $95.-150. area for the footwear i like, although one time i dropped $595. on the coolest square toed Python boots ever. Sales help is not pushy, and they know the product. They have even suggested other places to shop when i could not find what i was looking for; most boutique shops will not do that. Portland is lucky to have a great shoe store called Johnny Sole!
Johnny Sole, baby!. I live in New York City, home of Jimmy Choo obsessed Sex And The City women...I may be one of them. But I save a good portion of my shoe fund for my trips to Portland and JOHNNY SOLE because they have the coolest shoes. End of story...
Too Cool!. I admit I'm a shoe fiend. Wherever I travel, shoes stores first. NYC, LA, Milan...you get the picture. So I live in PDX and luckily, the best I've ever found is right here. Always the latest -- things I never think I'd find here. Haven't been there? Oops.
Cool shoes and hot chicks. Where else can you get stylin' shoes and boots while being helped by the best looking shoe store staff in town? Only at Johnny Sole.
stylish. Although the prices are a little higher, the styles that u can find in the store are great.
