Taste of Bali. I am by far so sad this place has closed. I called today and talked with the owner. Their reason for closing is because the rent is 6500 and they cannot afford it. Does anyone know of a place not too far from there that has residential living space combined with kitchen/dinning area????

Anyhow- they had the best slow cooked beef stew over rice... we have to do something!!!

This restaurant is no longer there. I really liked this restaurant and they had several good vegan/vegetarian options. They made there own temphe. I just went by it the other week and it looks like it gone. Whenever I went in there customers were always coming and going so I thought they got good business. Maybe they moved? The man that worked there would always go 'hello my friend.' It was a great place to people watch as people walked by the windows.

Good Place to Start. While it's true this may not be the best Indonesian you'll ever try, you don't have to read many of these reviews to see that the friendly service, low-key atmosphere, and good food at Taste of Bali resonate with most of its customers, both new and long-time.

For ex-pat reviewers who decry the food, saying it isn't like what you're used to, that shouldn't come as a surprise. I'm sure your makanan asli (authentic food) is delicious too - you're lucky to have such a wonderful culinary heritage in your own family - but there's more than one way to make and flavor dishes, and just because it's different from what you're used to, doesn't take away from the possibility that it's good. There's more than one way to make a good dish, whether it's mac & cheese or gado-gado.

Taste of Bali is a good introduction to the many wonderful possibilities of Indonesian cuisine. Make plans to go there a few times and find out what you like. If it's new, you have a wonderful food world awaiting you.

Great food, great service!. I love Taste of Bali! The prices are very affordable, the food is tasty (especially if you like chicken, peanut sauce, and rice) and the owners are so gracious and friendly.

Won't ever go back. If you've never eaten Indo food, you might not be led astray and think it's good cheap eats. Otherwise...cheap it is, good it is NOT. I've been brought up eating authentic Indo food, so this was by far the most horrible version of Indo and I certainly won't go back. The Nasi Goreng (fried rice) is way too sweet, the Bami Goreng (noodles) is tasteless. Another reviewer apparently gave them a break stating that this isn't Indonesia what do we expect....I beg to differ because we do have the resoures to make these dishes. My family has done it for years. But check it out for yourself....If anything it's a cheap meal, just make sure you have a few bucks leftover to grab a Starbucks around the corner afterward to wash it down.
