Good, old standby chinese.
If you want to eat the best Chinese food available in Portland 20 years ago, this is it. It has not changed a bit. It still looks like a 70's era San Francisco Chinatown tourist trap. That is not to say it is bad! It still does a brisk lunch business and you can get in, eat and, back out fast, and not spend much. If you want better food, cheaper yet, find almost any of the Asian street food venders downtown, but you won't have a nice table and chair. If you want better food and spend only a little more, head out the new Portland Chinatown area around SE 82nd and Powell. There are dozens of great places around there run by recent immigrants who know how to cook traditional foods of much more interesting and good quality.

Chicken Teriyaki needs work.
I found the chicken teriyaki to be flavorless and tough. Good crab puffs though.

Was it something I said?.
This is the first critique I've ever had deleted because it failed to comform to the terms and conditions of CitySearch. I'll try again - Chu's crab puffs are outstanding, but their chicken teriyaki is unappealing - mostly dark meat and a sauce with little flavor.

Good take-out.
This is a good option for those of us who eat at our desks. The line moves fast, the food's cheap, and the crab puffs are **so** good.

Family Style Chinese Food.
Chu's was a staple of mine during my days working downtown. Where else can you get a heaping plate of great chinese food for $5, in a hurry? My favorite is the orange chicken and sesame chicken, but try everything, it's all good!
