Downtown Indian restaurant caters to business lunchers during the day with a buffet, and couples and families at night with tasty entrees.

India House offers more than the 'usual suspects' at every other Indian restaurants such as curry or vindaloo. OTOH you pay (a lot) for everything. A small portion of naan was almost $7. You pay extra for very dry tasteless rice and the main dishes were served in small pans. OTOH the service was excellent and the food (what there was of it) was very tasty. The Max rattles the walls and floors adding to the ambiance....yikes! Not a place for a relaxing or romantic dinner.

So when i moved here from the midwest i thought there would be loads of great indian food to be found, but it seemed i was wring, i did not like any of the places i had been. but i tried this placed and liked it, didnt love it, but liked it. the food that is...the prices are usually a couple bucks more per entree than other indian restaurants, and you have to pay for rice...which is strange, i have been to lots of indian restaurants, never paid for rice. i have been here several times, decided to stop going, i dont feel i get anything extra for the extra money, including free rice or a nice staff, or speedy service....i would, however, recommed a little place called new delhi indian restaurant on barbur, good food good prices, nice people and fast.

I looked for an email to the actual restaurant, but as I could not find one, I resort to this to voice my opinion. Overall, I enjoy this place to eat. It perhaps is not the best Indian food in the world, or even the city, but it has some great dishes and I've always been pleased when eating here. However, this evening we had $40.00 worth of take-out and much to our surprise when we opened up our food... had one slice of Naan. ONE. for two people. It was not a large flat piece either. It was a small, squished slice awkwardly cut in two that a Costco bread sample would put to shame. It was "an order of naan" which cost extra, and it was extremely disappointing to not have it to go with our food. That's really my only gripe here. We didn't get Naan.
