Spicy pad kee mao, tangy pad thai and varied curries draw Pearl District professionals and budget-minded students to this cozy spot.
decent food... horrible service
by lol13
we came in 1.5 hours before close, the only people in there. We then ordered and never saw our waitress until our food came out. It was decent. half way through another lady came out and threw our bill on the table as if impatient for us to leave... with another hour before close. When we asked for some dessert to go (trying to be nice and get out) she was clearly not happy about it and took 20 mins to bring us our sticky rice... it was a poor experience.
- Pros: decent food
- Cons: horrible service, rude wait staff
Poor Service, Stubborn Waittress
by SnowHawk
A friend and I were planning on meeting for lunch and my friend having been there before recommended it as a nice place for a quick bite. It started off with the waitress asking how many in our party, at which point she walked away before getting our answer. She stopped halfway across the restaurant and said "Are you coming?" in a fairly rude tone.
We were seated upstairs in the back corner after requesting a window seat, however we were told that we would be unable to get one as the table was reserved for a larger party. The entire time we were there our service was very short and rude conversationally.
The next party to come upstairs to be seated was a party of two as well, however when they asked for a window seat the waitress promptly divided up the tables and sat them. When asked about this she explained to us she had to wait to see if a larger party was coming. (There was about a two minute time between when I was seated and the next party was.)
When I asked to speak to a manager the waitress stated "Actually I am in charge." and walked away. It is obvious to say I will not be going back.
- Pros: Location
- Cons: Cramped seating, rude service
My second favorite Thai spot in Portland
by portlandfoodie2008
Even when I've gone there during busy times, the service is fast and friendly. The food is excellent, and I've eaten at tons of Thai places, so I know. Nice central location.
The only thing they could do better is enlarge the somewhat claustrophobic main dining area. Fortunately, outside seating during nice weather provides relief.
- Pros: Great food
- Cons: Too-small dining area
