Great vintage inventory!. I love vintage and have shopped at Ray's for years. Ray and his staff are always friendly and willing to show me anything that I want to see. From my vintage shopping experiences I've found that when you treat the owners, staff and vintage items with respect you'll have no problems here or in any other vintage store in town!

This place is great!

Beautiful finds in a great place with good people. Please note that the negative reviews here were written a long time ago! The staff is extremely knowledgeable about their collection; if you ask questions, you'll more likely than not find what you're looking for.

I have a 1930's gown from them, in perfect condition, which was well priced and is absolutely a treasure. It has survived a rowdy high school prom and several evenings out, still in great condition. I told them that I was looking for a prom dress and they gave me their full attention, pulling all sorts of things from the wall collection to help me find just the right one.

Ray is very strict about waist measuring. This can be a downer at times but is understandable, as he doesn't want any damage to his collection. Before you try on a dress, he has to measure your waist to make sure you can't ruin it by trying to fit into something too small for you.

Great store, great clothes.

Overpriced damaged clothes. I've heard so much about Ray's that I was expecting a lot more. They do have a large selection, but you can't see a lot of it because it's too high on the wall or behind a counter or just crammed onto overstuffed racks. Once I got items into the brighter lights of the dressing rooms, I noticed stains or tears on almost every item. Gross. Everything was also consistently priced very high, higher than much higher qulity items at other stores. The staff was friendly but not very helpful, my friend and I stood at the counter waiting to pay while at least 3 employees stood not 5 feet away talking. They weren't ignoring us, they were just totally distracted. I don't know if they don't automatically put your purchases in bags- but I had to remind the sales girl twice that, yes, I would like a bag (It was pouring rain out). I did find a couple of great things, but with so many other (greatly superior) vintage stores in town, I don't think that I will be going back.

Snotty service, high prices, poor quality. This is the worst vintage store in the city. The clothes are poor quality (lots of tears, stains, and other defects, as well as very dirty) and the prices are about 50% higher than what they are at the other stores just a few blocks away. This would be bad enough but then we get to the staff. They are extremely rude and snotty. Any questions I asked were met with attitude and unhelpfullness. With 3 employees sitting behind the counter gossiping about how lame the last customer was, not one could take the time to show me where an article of clothing was when I asked, just a "i think it's over there" and get this, a roll of the eyes!! It got worse from there when another girl gave me attitude for trying on sunglasses. With the amount of good quality vintage stores out there, there is just no reason to go here.
