I work just blocks from this place, so i visit regularly for my commuting needs. EVERY time i go in, i'm greeted with a smile and am given room to shop, which is great b/c i hate pesky sales people. if i have a question i can easily find someone to answer it. True, you may need to wait~ this place is busy, non-stop, and there's a reason for it. Good location, friendly people, good quality bike service, and great atmosphere. i recently took a bike in I was using for commuting to work, the gal saved me over $200 by being honest and telling me it was way too small for me (i'm not bike savy and just figured i needed to get a handlebar extension since my arms were hurting). The job would have called for the extension tube, along with new cables,etc. The bike was in great condition~ just not my size! I consider that a great act of genuine service. Bike Gallery isn't all about making money, they're about making regular people happy bicyclists!!

This is the worst business I've been to in Portland. I was there for a tune-up and for them to replace the cables and housings in my brakes, and to replace a flat tire. Not only was I charged twice for the cable and the tire, but they didn't even replace the rear brake cable. After noticing the overcharges, they couldn't even explain to me why I was charged so much from what was agreed. They did take off the overcharges, but I will still have to take my bike elsewhere to replace the rear brake. The only convenient thing about this store is its location. I know I will take my business elsewhere next time. Avoid at all cost.
