With such mixed reviews, I was curious. I got glasses there and realized to my amusement, that the people describing the staff as unfriendly especially their leader, melody (a misnomer if ever i've heard one) were right, and likely the 5 start and 100 exclamation mark positive reviews are fake. it was quite amusing trying to get her to say 'thank you' or 'you're welcome' (i started to play a little game by saying things like 'thanks' before leaving and then just waiting til it was acknowledged). She/they definitely took every opportunity to establish they were right when I had a complaint about fit. the customer is always wrong, but tolerated. Go there if you are a masochist, or if you like the absurd. It is kind of funny to read reviews like this, and then go in and see exactly what they are talking about. oh well, in the end i got a good pair of glasses, but the doctor should fire his staff if he wants his business to thrive. Buyer beware.

I like Dr. Nelsons demeanor, but I will never return. I've dealt with them for the last few years and have never been greeted with a smile or felt like my business is wanted or appreciated. The gentleman that works there and one of the older ladies is cordial, but there are too many other competent Dr.s in Portland to put up with being treated so poorly. I've worked in customer service for over a decade and I know everyone can have a bad day but, please, every time I've been there I've had an unpleasant experience.
